Auto fill is still a pathetic method of balancing que times or whatever its trying to accomplish.
Gonna keep this short and simple instead of typing an essay.
This feature is probably what really makes solo que harder than it should be and I'll state many reasons for this. Firstly it interrupts the practice of players attempting to improve, why? Well if I'm trying to improve and I get an autofilled ADC mark the role, ADC not support. Late game is nearly impossible to pass thus giving an auto loss. Improving is not winning however, its more of a practice of interactions between your teammates. But if you get one teammate that doesn't know what the hell he's doing then this gives multiple extensions of negative feedback. This relates to my second reason, it spreads toxicity without a doubt. If an autofilled ADC can't nearly perform well then its not just flaming but multiple instances of toxicity and even asking all chat to 9x that ADC. I've seen this happen and I won't play clean like I don't flame, EVEN though I know that he was autofilled and technically and it's not his fault. I still resort to flaming because thats the only thing that will sedate my anger for this games state. Now I know what everyones going to say to me:
"BUT DAX 2 YEARS AGO THERE WAS NO METHOD TO PICK 2 ROLES, IT WAS FILLED OR NOT FILLED, PICK ORDER OR FEED!" Well heres the problem, that was two years ago. If you give a method to pick two roles in your game, players adapt. Therefore it's not even a valid reason to keep autofill. It's even the matter of opinion here, I've seen that the community wants to be able to choose if they want to wait 10-15 minutes for the que pop instead of wasting 20-30 minutes on a game where the player doesn't have a clue what to do in the filled role.
"BUT DAX, HIGH ELO HAD TO GO THROUGH THIS LAST SEASON" Well now I really understand the struggles, my sympathy is given.
