Lethality buff question regarding ADCs

So for those math nerds or people who have personally tested, is ghost blade a good first on Jhin and MF once again or is crit still the way to go?

To be honest, ER always gave more damage than GB on Jhin.

Always.

Even against low armor targets. Even against high armor targets.

A pro player did the math on it. A huge, extensive PDF on Jhin builds.

Now that you don't get as much of a boost to MS and none at all to AS (more AD for Jhin), its still not going to be worth it over ER builds.

Basically, if you're buying Ghost Blade, it should be for the active, not the damage.

Depends on two things:

a) First, how important is early vs late game for you. Lethality, despite being a scaling stat, is most useful in the early game, when enemy champions base armor is still low. Later on, the combination of Crit + %Armor Pen does a much better job of killing everything.

b) Second, how squishy are your targets. If you will be mostly shooting at squishy stuff, lethality absolutely shreds them, if, on the other hand, your target has a lot of armor, due to the way armor and damage reduction works, your damage increase will be much less noticeable.

Right now the meta favors early game fighting, squishy caster supports, so by all means, go lethality. But if at min 35 you realize that fed Darius has become virtually unkillable, you know why.

considering if your opponent was level 1, it would give you 12 amor pen already, ... if the enemy u are hitting is level 12 when you have ghostblade you are hitting them with abt 17 armor pen. so yeah, it's a good rush item.

even at lvl 9 it's abt 16

Not sure about Jhin, but the arpen build was already good on MF even before they buffed it this patch.

I think for the likes of Lucian or MF, Ghost blade + Black Cleaver is probably going to work just fine in most cases. Since you have a lot of ways to stack cleaver, and both of those champs benefit from Apen because they are caster oriented.

Jhin I think might be a more interesting case. He really doesn't benefit the same way he uses to with the Duskblade changes. however, I think I've have seen hybrid builds that rushed Ghost blade, and then followed it up with an IE.

I'm not sure if ER is really that favored anymore. At least in the pro scene, they tend to favor more damage from your abilities, rather than more rapid abilities with a never ending mana battery. ER became more of a Utility carry item, for ADC's like Ashe.

Either way, what you build is going to affect exactly how you do damage, Apen means more spell damage, ER means more spells, and IE means more Crit damage. Try to figure out what works for you.

ethality is better in early game now, and on top of all of this, jhin's passive is only good when he start getting a lot of AD

just go for armor pen build on jhin
