Riot, please make Cho'gath unplayable until you Rework him.

Let's face it - he needs a FULL VGU.

You can buff the worst champion in the game for 10 consecutive patches and they'll end up broken. Fucking Teemo would end up 100% pick/ban in LCS if you buffed him as many times as you've buffed Cho'gath this season.

He's not a healthy champion. He's never been a healthy champion. The few times he's been viable in pro play he's been so polarizing that he's been swiftly nerfed out of meta.

He's not fun to play as. He's not fun to play with. He's not fun to play against. Fucking remove him from the game for a few months while you come up with a decent rework.

He's the void's version of Sion/Galio. He deserves better than this.

I nean, his "swift" nerfs have always been rather minor. He's almost always been a product of a meta that he excels in and less about him being individually broken. The interaction between Gargoyle Stoneplate and his ult just needs to be removed and he probably needs slight nerfs to E. let's stop pretending Cho has been problematic for his existence, he's been a meta top laner and jungler for pretty decent durations in the past and simply fell out of favor. He needs slight nerfs and GSP needs to reduce true damage as well and Cho would be fine.

There's no way Riot can remove the interaction between Gargoyle's and his ult unless they flat out removed the HP scaling on the ability. Because it's true damage, it cannot be reduced nor mitigated by any means (which lets it ignore Gargoyle's damage reduction).

Stoneplate reduces all damage dealt by the champion except true damage

Fixed. It would be absolutely fine if you could self mitigate true damage anyway.

Because of how it's most likely coded, it would also allow Exhaust to reduce True Damage.

It's not because of how Stoneplate is coded, but rather how True Damage is coded, in that it cannot be reduced by anything.

Why do people lie about this? Up until the W changes in season 6 he was always a product of the meta favoring him -- just like Trundle. He's not a problematic design; he has a slow, telegraphed skillshot and he's rewarded appropriately for hitting it. His silence is easier to avoid than people think as long as you're moving around him and not straight toward/away from

Hell, I don't even think he'd BE a problem if he didn't have the synergy with Gargoyle that he does right now.

If you committed all of the nerfs that you mentioned, he would go back to being a rare niche pick, only viable against immobile comps. I spent much of my league career learning to use his kit effectively. He is one of the easiest champions to kite in the game, and his full damage combo requires him to be right on top of you, now for longer given that he was to proc 3 autos. Your suggestion is basically just to put him back to the way he was, which clearly wasn't effective because he only saw play after he was massively over-buffed. I tend to agree with the OP on one thing: he needs a complete VGU - not one of those shyvana-esque reworks, but a full-on rework.

It would make more sense for Riot to make Cho's vorpal spikes %health damage to scale with AP, in order to promote a less tanky build as a trade-off for damage.

I agree that Cho is very strong right now, but hold back on the "remove all viability" statements.

He has seen a ton of minor buffs and item changes that ended up making him incredibly strong, seemingly out of nowhere, but that isnt the case. hes just been having power slowly added to his kit, both directly and indirectly.

His original ult changes in patch 7.4, the ult being buffed in 7.6, Doran's Shield reworked, Gargoyle Stoneplate being added in 7.9, Knights Vow being added in 7.9, item health being nerfed across the board (which makes Cho's innate tankiness worth more). Changes to Locket and Knights Vow in 7.12. And finally the 7.14 changes that gave Cho an E ability to actually use.

All of this added up, seemingly under everyone's noses, including the balance teams, to the point where when Cho started seeing play above 2% people began to see how strong he was.

Hopefully the E nerfs will address some of his power, because its not even Cho by himself, its that Cho, with access to certain items, in a meta that heavily favors ADCs, does very well.

I certainly feel like these E nerfs will address some of the major power that Cho'Gath holds in the Jungle, but only give some slight breathing room for people he goes up against in top lane. These are some pretty fair nerfs to him though. At least they will affect him directly by a but.

"He deserves better than this."

"Riot, please make Cho'gath unplayable"

Pick one.

(Obviously, him getting a full Rework may happen eventually, but making him worthless in the interim is not going to make that happen any faster.)
