Clicking on the map to move the camera now has a delay when camera is locked

Why

Why was this change necessary. What is the point of there being a delay just because the camera is locked. It was not like this yesterday.

I noticed this too, it takes like a whole 1.5 seconds for it to render the command. This is especially bad when I like to click around on the minimap in ranked.

Why play with a locked camra?

That's like asking why play with flah on D rather than F

Yes I included the spelling error on purpose.

Uh, no it's not?

One is something you need to learn (to play with unlocked Camra) and the other is personal preference.

Ever heard of muscle memory / mechanical skills? That involves learning which keys are where, both are personal preference and both involve getting used to a certain degree.

BTW something can be a personal preference AND something that you learn / need to get used to at the same time, they are not inherently opposite they are inherently neutral.

I'm about 90% sure that most people who play League know where the D and F key are long before they started playing League. It's something most kids learn in Elementary or Middle School. So as long as Flash is always on the same key, you will always remember with muscle memory where it is.

Locked Camra on the other hand, It's better to learn to play with it unlocked so you can see more of the screen/game as it's happening and you can just hit space to center. Playing locked cuts off a good chunk of your screen specially on the Purple side. If you play locked on Purple, it makes it real hard to dodge skill shots (as a mid laner). So if you want to play locked and hinder your own gameplay then be my guest but just know that they are not the same thing.

Flash on F is better because normally your pointer finger is idle, D is better because middle finger is faster, no wait space is better because thumb is there...

Im doing the exact same thing you are but with keybindings….

You are talking about personal preference just as I am.

You just supported my argument in the middle of a random rant that wasn't even in response to what I was saying, if you change keys/new to league you gotta get used to it.

Thanks for contradicting yourself and agreeing with me

No I am talking about someone who plays with there screen locked, Y.

Not a person who plays unlocked but uses the Space bar to center themselves.

Which is asymmetrical and a preference just as keybindings can be asymmetrical between players due to a personal preference

And both have setups with positives and drawbacks...

How have you not realized this when I clearly mirrored your opinions on screen locks but with keybindings instead.

The fact that you think I don't know what youre talking about just goes to show you didn't read.

The fact that you don't realize that people play with locked screens who just don't ever use the key binding to unlock it, those are the people who I'm talking about.

i just hit y to lock when i dont need to move the camera but i hit it again when I need to

MrHaZeYo1 votes

That's personal preference I spose, but it's a lot easier to rest your thumb on the space bar over extending your index finger to the Y button.

You don't need to learn how to play with unlocked camera. I play with locked just fine and if needed, I unlock and sweep around--even more so because I play Zed. I've been playing like this since I started League and I see no problems continuing like this. It'd actually be a bigger hassle for me to try and change my habit than staying the way I am and to be honest, I don't see why you get to run around and tell people how to play the game.

I didn't change to unlocked either until awhile after I hit Lv30 (and that was back when going 1-30 took forever), I thought I'd be fine with locked camera even though all my real life friends who all played and were like Gold/Plat (season3) told me to just take the time (and the bad games adjusting) to learn and I finally did and honestly, it's so much better.

Because it's a basic fundamental that everyone should learn? It's so much harder to play Mages and some caster AD champs with a locked camera. Vision is power in League, it's something people say all the time, well the same goes with your camera. if I can't see a whole fight then I can't react to the whole fight.

If people want to play locked then that's fine, but don't complain about gimping yourself. I still haven't noticed the slight delay going from locked to unlocked but I use the space bar when I do have it locked and not the toggle "Y".

It doesn't have to be the key 'Y', mine is binded to 'T' and that's not my point. I'm used to it to the point where I don't even need to think about pressing it, I unlock it automatically when needed. It may be a 'basic fundamental' for you but for others, locked camera is their 'basic fundamental'. No one says that's the only way you can play the game, there is the option of locked camera for a reason. It's a matter of preference, don't be biased.

Something you might wanna learn.

yeah it's really stupid

I am incapable of playing with a locked camera. WC3 conditioned me.

If you are playing on locked camera you have bigger issues to worry about
