Let's talk objectively about Ekko
The boy who shattered time. Has a nice ring to it huh? But let's take a closer look at his kit and how he works. He's supposed to be a Assassin/Fighter, yet has one of the slowest, if not the slowest burst of all assassins in this game. Why pick Ekko for Assassinating when you could just pick Ahri, Zed, or Talon? But, there are those who say "He's a skirmisher". On a champion whose purpose is to blow up squishies, I feel like I should be able to do more for my team than throw a W and a Q, MAYBE get my E in and what, ult out? Not to mention, most people with half a brain will never be caught by his W unless it's thrown from brush or they've been CC'd. His laning leaves so much to be desired, as he can be poked out by many go-to midlane champions. His basic attacks are too slow to truly synergize with his passive, making you need to proc it by landing your E and Q. His ult also needs more maneuverability. Let me compare to Zed's ult. Zed's ult also lets him become untargetable, and by pressing R again you can safely get away from your enemy or the enemy jungler after using it for a kill. You can see Ekko's ult all the time, and the only time the enemy may lose track of it is when they're fighting you. In addition to the mana you'll already use to kill with your other skills (and you better pray to god you at least landed part of your Q) ulting will usually leave Ekko OOM.
So what is the point of all this? I think Ekko needs to have work done on him. Not a rework, but maybe some tweeks here and there. Give his basic attacks better synergy with his passive. Make his W more practical in its use. As one of the newer champions, sitting at a 46% winrate doesn't speak to highly of his design. I really do like Ekko, but compared other champions in his role, he feels limited.
, in all honesty. MASSIVELY useful but incredibly unreliable if you're really bad with him.
