Thank you for the Aatrox changes Riot

For those who dont know, Aatrox is getting buffed on PBE

In return, he is getting some changes to his ult. Changes that I really like

[New] Aatrox now only revives if he gets a takedown during World Ender [New] Takedowns refresh the duration of World Ender and reset The Darkin Blade (Q)'s cooldown Cooldown lowered from 160/140/120 to 140/120/100 Bonus movement speed (on cast and out of combat) increased from 120/180/240 to 150/200/250 Increased total attack damage increased from 20/25/30% to 25/27.5/30% Cast time lowered from .5s to .25s Revive self slow increased from 25% to 99% Revive heal changed from [10-50% Max HP] to [30% max HP] [Removed] No longer fears allied minions [Removed] Blood Well

So if these changes make it to live, Aatrox will now be rewarded for using world ender offensively (or possibly using it under tower during a dive) Ever since his change, one of the biggest FUs was fighting/ganking an Aatrox, staring to win that fight, only for Aatrox to pop the ult and run back under his turret. Even if he dies, he could still move under his turret, he would still revive. For a "world ender" it was a bit of a thematic cop out, similar to Tryn using his "undying rage" to run away.

Now Aatrox will be rewarded for using ult early, for the passive AD, and using it offensively to get kills rather than to run away

You should make similar changes to Tryndamere.

When tryn ults, he gains the 50/75/100 fury as he currently does.

During his ult, he loses 20 fury per second. Takedowns grant 100 fury. While he has more than 10 fury, Tryndamere cannot die. Rewards Tryn for engaging and fighting while ulting, can prolong his ult for longer than current if engaging, punishes tryn for using his ult solely to gain 5 seconds to run away. (he still gets ~2 seconds of not dying at rank 1, 5 seconds at rank 3)

While I don't totally agree with your numbers, this seems like a better idea than press r to win or run away.

this idea is nice, but you would need to rework trydnamere's passive and Q along with that ult change

These are the changes that the game needs. Defensive utility is the most cancerous thing in the world, whether it's on a drain tank/AD caster or on an Enchanter support. I get that some champions are defined by keeping themselves and their team alive, but we can always start by removing defensives from champions who are more than a shield/heal bot.

As someone who really liked the original Aatrox, this change to his ultimate is closer to his old design than the rework. Old Aatrox didn't have a free revive. He had to work for it. Cuz if you got your passive popped with little to no blood well, you would die in basically one hit after coming back up. And just prior to his rework this was changed so that he needed a full blood well to get a revive, and I felt this was the best iteration of the revive. Having to put in work to get that revive separated the mains from the FOTM abusers that used him just before rework.

Old ult also was just straight up better, giving higher dps and range, whereas the the current form of the reworked ultimate is best used for escape, rather than fighting. The damage gain is pretty weak unless you land than 4 man Q3, and the speed is only useful for closing the gap for landing Q1 or a passive hit, or running away. I like now that the ability is offensively focused, and will reward aggressive, smart plays, instead of just giving poorly positioned players a free pass.

My only gripe is that the added slow on revive seems a little heavy handed and will actually punish turret dives unless you keep your flash, since the reduced revive health will mean that flashing in for a kill and revive without minions will almost always trade a kill back after revive, once you eat 2 tower shots. At least with the 25% slow you had the option of flashing in and using the revive time to walk far enough away to only take one shot.

But I also understand that they are taking the "swing heavy, fix later" Akali approach to kill his ultimate abuse in pro play, so I expect they will dial back the slow at a later date.

WHAT A SHIT CHANGE! I JUST DISCOVERED IT IN-GAME AFTER DYING FEW TIMES. For someone who doesn't read pages of patch notes every times, this put me in losing the lane. This is far from original aatrox, NO KILL NO REVIVE. Just when you thought this champion couldn't get any worse. Thank you again RIOT
