What the f is going in on silver?

2 seasons ago I was a hardcore EUW player that managed to get to platinum 4 with a lot of hard work, I wasn't the best player in the world but with dedicated play I finally got into plat. I got a kid and I just havn't got the time to play anymore, so if I can play 5 to 10 games a week I am happy.

Due to this I fell back to silver and I am now playing in silver 1, but what stikes me most is that I see so many support players withouth a . Is this normal in this elo these days? Serioulsy I don't know if it's the new meta or something, because this used to be the thing of bronze elo..

I've played on three servers. But NA is the worst when it comes to solo que. People are so fixated and absolutely worship master Yi and Yasuo, cannnot play practical support efficiently or even know ward placements to gain vision control as jungle even in gold. And shout about meta picks while not knowing how the tactic works.

I'm pretty sure NA soloque is 5 tiers lower than other servers. It is literally a cave filled with prehistoric monkeys, hitting each other with sticks out in the jungle. I even heard streamers say that the NA meta tactics are typically 3 months outdated that of the newest Korean strategies.
