Ive stepped on a Caitlyn trap once, ever
Because Im not bad, and actually look at the screen while playing the game.
Because Im not bad, and actually look at the screen while playing the game.
So wait, does that mean Caitlyn never placed one directly under you?
Sounds like bad Caitlyn players.
Theres a difference between "me stepping on it" and "Caitlyn placing it under me while cced"
And it's usually the second one that's the more valid complaint.
Then Ive proved my point about there being too many Malphite ults in the game.
"but zac/galio/new support dude has a delay"
Wait wut?
No. You haven't, you didn't bridge the logic from your opening statement in the post to anything having to do with Malphite ults.
Cait traps don't have to be stepped on to be effective zoning tools.
Thats what they are. Effective zoning tools. But you look at these forums and see "wah wah I step on traps every 5 seconds take 5 million damage nerrrrrf"
Why can't the quality of your forum posts be as good as the level you say you play at?
Because you should never have cloned yourself.
???
You know, letting your not-much-more-evil clone run around doesn't do anybody any good.
Please don't compare that filth to me.
Please, he gives filth a bad name.
The Traps need a setup delay that is over 1.5s
She drops them ON you and you get rooted. Its BS
So you cant move off a hitbox smaller then a Teemo in 1.5 seconds?
You deserve to get rooted
Problem is chain CC. Zyra snare into cait trap or morg snare into cait trap.
How is that any different from any other cc then? Except one that requires another cc to land?
Because other forms of CC don't come with a guaranteed head shot crit, have shorter distances for use (jinx trap has a very short range), and/or aren't guaranteed to work. Very few ADCs actually have a mechanic for hard CC that isn't on their ult. This is likely by design to avoid chain CC in the early bot lane.
Also just as a point of common sense, traps have to be set without the prey standing on the ground they're placed. This mechanic of setting a trap on top of someone's hit box (where they are standing) just doesn't make sense. Unless you want to tie your trap to a rope and throw it at people that is...
This is actually the most valid counterargument Ive ever seen on this topic. Thank you good sir.
Happy to help. I'm never out to see champions nerfed into the ground. I just want to see them brought into balance. The intended use of cait traps is for them to be deployed as a defensive or offensive zoning tool that occasionally gives you a head shot when someone walks on one as far as I see. The ability to use them offensively at a distance when combined with a support's snare is something that lacks counterplay outside of taking cleanse. And as far as I'm concerned, balanced counterplay should never involve a summoner spell that can only be used once every 4-5 minutes.
I step on them all the time....purposely to remove them from the map.
Caitlyn is probably the most brain dead ADC. Aside from her super safe poke, she also has those garbage trap she just lays out across the lane or underneath you, immediately causing it to go off. Stupid mechanics. Don't act like you never got hit by that crap.
Bruh its not the traps themselves people complain about its the traps when chained w/ other cc.
The problem with Caitlyn is getting a very significant damage boost while chain CCing.
Being stunned by Karma, Alistar, Thresh and Leona, or rooted by Morgana and Zyra, and THEN having a Caitlyn trap thrown under you, losing a quarter health (more so if crit) in addition to any further attacks and abilities isn't fun to play against.
It's a death sentence, and all you need to do is be incapacitated for one second, which in many cases is unavoidable.
