Burst support mages- Lux Brand Velkoz Zyra

Other than Zyra, the other 3 are somewhat played in mid-lane but still have a better play-rate and win-rate as supports. However, even at support position they are at the bottom of the list : check below

http://na.op.gg/champion/statistics

If they are not viable picks as supports, then they should be reverted back to mid. I can see how this can be difficult for Zyra, but i know for a fact that if you increase Brand's and Lux's early game farming, they would be played a lot more in mid lane. Lux just needs an increase in her E radius, whilst brand needs more AP ratio on his E so W and E can kill caster minions early on.

Lol this would actually simply make them stronger and not bring them back mid... It's not AP mages that are weak, it's assassins that have a better wave clear than them while being hyper mobile and dealing stupid damage early in the game + roaming easily

Despite being originally mid laners Brand Karma Lux Morgana Velkoz Zyra are rarely played mid because of the bruiser and assassin dominance in mid lane. I don't know why item 3155 and that magic shield exist when the mages are the ones that get crushed in mid lane.

I'm too lazy to look at that link.

What are we supposed to see?

Do they have low win rates?

Low play rates?

I just ask, because I think all 4 are very strong right now.

I'm in silver rank, so i'm pretty average.

I think all three are good mid, and support.

PS. i know im pushing it with Zyra mid, it is actually bad right now sadly...

All 3 of those actually work well depending on how its played. You might add Morgana to that list as well as a mage that is played support. She is played more support than mid or top, but Karma is the same way.

If they are low win rates, you also have to wonder what the enemy picked into it. Was it an actual support? Chances are they have lower play rates in those roles which skews the win rates, and you then also have to wonder if in the lesser amount of games, which person was shutting them down the most?

If they were beating up the enemy support, but the ADC carried in the majority of games... that would cause a lower win rate for the ap supports.

If the enemy support is generally a hard carry support like Thresh or Pyke or Blitz.... they would have to play extremely cautiously similar to any non tanky support. This lessens their effectiveness as well, and could cause a skew in the games.

If it was played in worlds once, then MF support will be skewed heavily by the amount of people attempting to continue that pick no matter what for the next 3 or 4 months.... that skews the win rates a lot too.
