@Riot what are your thought on Gnar's current power?

He seems to be struggling quite a bit right now, and his matchups don't really seem to make much sense. All-in champions like Riven and Renekton are being countered by Gnar rn, while Gnar is doing horrible against certain matchups he used to be very strong in, such as versus Maokai. It's difficult for me to understand whether Gnar needs buffs or if everything else needs to be nerfed. Players who have 50-125 ranked games on him only have about a 47.57% winrate with him and according to probuilds.net, he only has a 47.64% winrate. This seems to say that Gnar is too weak right now, but is that the case according to Riot's internal data? Would he receive changes in order to refocus his strength against tanky champions and (dare I say it) buffs to Renekton or Riven targeted at improving their matchup against Gnar. Would he also get changed to be less binary against champions like Darius? The recent meta has been tanky top laners that Gnar should be doing well against, squishy champions that Mega Gnar should punish, and tanks with damage which Mega Gnar counts as, but the fact that he is struggling so much seems to suggest that he is too weak. He was recently buffed, and I honsetly don't think the 3 base AD was enough. IMO, he needs larger changes to his rage generation, his damage on Hyper, and base resistances on Mega Gnar. Mega Gnar simply doesn't have tools to survive other than raw stats, and his stats don't seem to be strong enough in either the early game or the late game when most other tank champions have shields and such to help tank. That said, his mid game tankiness is very strong, and could probably be decreased in order to compensate for buffs to early and mid game (i.e. higher base armor/mr early on, much lower scaling, and then maybe passive % bonus armor/mr on ult ranks or something similar to that). by tying the armor and mr to % bonus, he could scale better with tank items, but also be weaker without as many items. since gnar doesn't tend to build tank right away and instead gets a damage item first, this would hit his mid game until he builds enough tank items to compensate for the loss in base stats. the strong early armor/mr would also help him in the laning phase as mega gnar. changes to rage (little bit more rage early, little less rage late, rage generation scaling with % missing hp for more reliable transformations when really low on health) would also be greatly appreciated, although i do understand the reasoning being that late game it gates him from being abusive with attack speed and that early game it prevents his healing and trading from being oppressive.

A Rioter response would be greatly, greatly appreciated even if it was only to tell me that I am completely wrong and that Gnar needs nerfs instead or something like that. It would just be nice to know that he is being thought of and might get some more attention than just +3 base AD, a couple bugfixes, and a change in attack range with a group of many others since patch 5.3 (early last season).

And for all ye downvoters in the comment section, please say more than just "I hate Gnar" if you disagree. Explanations would be greatly appreciated.

People said the same thing about karma, and they kept buffing her over and over and she's now op.

fair enough, but i wouldn't really say that karma is op. she's only at about a 48.4% winrate for support (50.3% for mid) right now, which isn't too strong. honestly, karma's kit is more of the problem than the numbers, so she probably won't be that strong unless she's way overtuned. gnar on the other hand is just suffering from power creep and could use some changes to help bump him up a bit

i haven't been watching lcs, so I didn't know. i guess that means she is really strong, but they can just tone her down a bit. gnar is still really weak, and if he became op, he could be toned down too
