Where exactly does talon's e put u?

i had tried it several times by instant casting e and w, for like 70percent of the time i will land behind the target, but sometimes i end up infront of them and completely missed my w cause i expect to be behind them zo i cast it to the back.

plz help i am confused.

it's supposed to put you behind the champion (the champion's back).

For example if they are facing you, talon will appear behind them facing you towards where you once were. But if they are running from you you will jump behind them again but this time you would be facing in the same direction as you started.
