Does anyone else think the changed to rift Herald is a bad idea
I think this is going to be broken as hell

I agree with The Seven Sins. I don't think that it'll be THAT awful. 5% damage reduction is considerable, but not massive. I'm personally more scared of the Water dragon. The every x seconds, you restore 10% of your missing HP and mana... soo good
well maybe its situational sustain is always welcome
im personally more scared of a team grabbing more then 1 fire drake
Hrm, yeah they're all pretty good I think. I was worried about RNG favoring some team comps more than others. However, they all seem pretty good universally. Dragon will definitely be more contested now! :)
Now Spawns at 6 minutes and NEVER respawns. Rift Herald has significantly higher stats and is much harder to solo. Doom's Eve buff REMOVED. Now Grants "Glimpse of the Void": Lasts 20 minute and persists through Death While alone, you gain damage reduction vs champions. While alone, attacks build corruption charges: At 100 stacks, your next attack discharges all Coruptions to deal bonus magic damage (works on minions and towers too, reduced damage for ranged attacks) Corruption stack rate and discharge damage scale with champion level. "This unit has seized the Rift Herald's essence. While no allied champions are nearby, it takes 5% reduced damage from enemy champions and passively generates Corruption. Attacking with 100 Corruption stacks discharges them to deal bonus magic damage based on champion level (halved for ranged attacks)."
I think over all, it's not going to be broken but effective as an reward. I could be wrong, but I think their focus on this is that it gives a lot less roaming potential for junglers who solo'd Rift and then used the movement passive to gank/Farm more effectively, On top of it, you can only get it once. So a single death causes you to lose the buff for the rest of the game. I think it's a great reward for someone who can prevent their deaths while being isolated form allied champions.
The text you pasted says it persists through death. :D Not trying to be nit picky, but it might matter.
Riot is trying everything to reduce lane swop/buddy jungling/tower trading, but they didn't realize the real issue that caused lane swop is tower being easily destroyed and the gold increase making it worth awhile to trade the top laner's farm/exp for towers.
I think this makes the game even more "Snowball" than it currently is. And this is probably one of the MOST debatable implementations riot has done.
It's dangerous and I see if they try to balance it they will end up deleting it. Because there is no way to make it have impact without making it a nightmare for the opponent.
All it takes is two simultaneous kills occurring on the map and that team now LOSES even harder when this beast goes to the enemy.
It's an unneeded mechanic...
If they want to semi-force team fight just put friggin TP pads in each lane that takes the laners to dragon when it's going to spawn. Then both teams have equal choice weather to go for a fight based on items and exp or sacrifice and push your tower. Just give dragons meaningful buffs and do this....They won't but they might as well at this point.
If your main concern is the whole "The team who gets this is going to get a huge advantage", THAT'S THE POINT! Riot wanted objectives to be things that aren't "Oh we missed that one, better get the next one!" and more, "Oh crap! They got that and we didn't! Now we have to fight an uphill battle!" I mean, what's the point of an objective if it's not going to provide the team with some decent advantage.
