Yasuo Balance Idea

Sorry long post ahead but this is important, even TL;DR won't help.

DISCLAIMER I'm not a Yasuo player, but I do play him every once ina while so I understand his kit. Also I faced him countless times (who hasn't?) so I got experience in this field.

I see lots of people complaining anout Yasuo, which is fair. So I was thinking, what makes Yas op? I came up with the following: -CRITZality -infinite dashes (gotta dash fast!) -immortality

As we can see, these are prime point of Yas and balancing them means rework, which I doubt what Riot want. Now for the juicy stuffy idea

CHANGE THE PASSIVE-ish... Basically, Yasou's passive is the major strength point for him. If his unnecessary shield was taken out, it would HUGELY balance his laning phase, for the opponents at least. Please I don't want to hear any back counter arguments cause they're all invalid, Yas can become immortal late game, he needs no shield with all that life steal (literally steals life). Now the second part, his critzzzz. Getting 100% crit from 2 items is the reason why the other 3 items are built tanky or sustain. A simple fix would be make it a +% per level rather than flat 2x. I'm not about to calculate the best way to balance it but one thing for certain is I don't want to see Yas at 15mins slaughtering my team with 100% critz. If it was up to me I'd say somethings like 1.25-2x at lvl 18, so building tanky would be very unwise. That's my two cents.

But the main issue is if Riot threw this nerf at him he'd just WINDWALL IT...

It doesn't matter how reasonable or sensible your suggestions are. Yasuo mains will never concede that the champ is problematic and needs to be tuned. They are that egotistic and blind.

This is actually very similar to my ideas for how they should go about fixing him.

I would have his bonus crit scale up at intervals instead of every level, mostly because it is just simpler. For example, instead of 2x at all levels, if it were 1.25/ 1.5/1.75/2 x at levels 1/6/11/16 respectively. Or each point he invests into his passive could add 25%.

Our opinions differ about his flow shield however. I actually think that it is a fairly good part of his kit, but his flow shield AND his Windwall are strong when he can use them both to completely negate poke for a decent amount of time. Instead, I think turning his flow into an actual resource used for EITHER his flow shield OR his Windwall, would make him more vulnerable when one of them are unavailable.

So, how would they do that? Well, as I said earlier, his flow would become the resource for his Windwall, meaning he would need to have at least a certain amount of his flow meter in order to toss out his Windwall. However, this actually nerfs the availability of his Windwall because it is not only restricted by cooldown. To compensate for this, I would decrease its cooldown, making it more likely that you will have the option of using it while you have enough flow.

I would also consider having Yasuo generate flow faster by gaining some from landing his Q, or at least by landing it on enemy champions.

Depending on how this all is balancing so far, I would expect there to need to be some adjustment to his maximum flow, as well as the duration of the flow shield when/if it is proc'd.

So just to reiterate the intention for this second part, If his shield gets popped, he can not toss out his Windwall, but if he tosses out his Windwall, he no longer has a flow shield.

I don't think he has that many problems. His crit has reduced damaged, and his E is part of his kit and playstyle. He's meant to dash in, poke with his 3rd Q, then dash back out.

The only thing I could consider taking out is his passive shield. He's clearly meant to counter ranged champions with that windwall, and he still can, but with his passive shield, it makes it harder for anyone to punish him when he messes up his windwall.
