Does riot have staticians in their balance team ?

I'm asking this because sometimes riot make changes which doesn't make any sense if you analyse statisticaly some data. My guess is that if they have some staticians those aren't able to interpret data perhaps because they don't play the game. Perhaps riot just don't want to pay attention to the results and just want to do what they want with the game.

Riot should impose this rule : each person in the balance team has to play at least 4-5 games per day. You perhaps can read numbers but to interpret them you need to know how the real thing works. And that happens in real time in the game !

You need to play a lot of games to realize what is the the actual state of the game. Why ? if you do only play one game and that for example twitch destroys your team alone. Well it doesn't mean that he is unbalanced perhaps your team made mistakes and that the twitch is good. However if you do play 5 games per day and that in one week of playing twitch destroyed your team multiple times now you can say that there really is a problem...

To realize how you need to balance things you have to play a lot and not in your private test servers but in live servers !

They surely use staticians for financial purposes. But do they use them for balancing ? I'm doubting. If they do they surely want to change the gameplay in a volontary unbalanced way.

Why ? financial purposes certainly... characters getting new skins will be op or characters which are favorites of the community in terms of visual design too. Beautifull or aggressive characters have more skins because they are more appealing to be sold.

When riot reworks characters they make 2 things :

1 they adapt visually the character to the actual ''tastes'' of the community : making the characters more sexually attracting or making the character more cute, Alpha Male or more aggressive. You don't know it but this is a way of using your primitive instics to manipulate you... That's basic psychology. You will be more interested in buying a skin.

There was a reason why taliyah didnt' received new skins and new buffs until the community cried about it.... She not appealing = less skins sold.... So no interest for riot to buff her or to make her skins... Hopeffully the community wasn't happy...

Just think about lissandra too...

On the opposite side lux has a lot of skins... why ? sexually appealing... Beautifull in the term of the standard society....

2 they make the knew characters kit way more efficient than the old champions. People which doesn't care about the visual aspect will now want to play it for the competitive aspect because this new character will have new improved tools to make the victory easier. That's completely idiot because it makes older characters irrevelant and that makes the game even more imbalanced.

It's possible that riot has objectives which differs from EU and US players. Turned more in direction of Korean and China players.

My question is it is right and fair to favoritise Asian players in terms of gameplay ?

The mains questions for riot :

Do you practise favoritism for your Asian community ?

Do you volontary unbalance the game for financial purposes ?

Does this meta actually reflect your future vision of the game ?

Yes, they have stats. They have the complete stats, as they don’t allow everything they track into the api for sites like op.gg or lolalytics.

Also, they play on test servers, where they are working on new features of balance patches. All the stuff they put on PBE has already been tested hundreds of times internally by themselves as well as play test team.

When you work 9-5 on something, when you get home, and have time to yourself, are you always going to want to do the same thing you spent all day doing at work?

Forcing balance team members to play 4 or 5 games a day is excessive. Even challenger players only need to play an average of 1 game per day to prevent ranked decay. Also, from a company's perspective, paying someone to play their game for a few hours every single day seems like a waste. If Riot makes them do it on their own time, that isn't fair either(even if it is something they would do anyways).

Challenger players do play way more than 5 games per day perhaps not in ranked but in normal and drafts.

It would not be a waste because it is what the game really needs to be balanced. You can't just read numbers and interpret them without the context. perhaps 3 games a day would be sufficient. Let's say for example 08:00-12:00 playing the game 13:00-17:00 analysing statistically data.

I know challenger players are playing more than 1 game per day, but I'm just comparing the bare minimum requirements. For both challenger players and balance employees, league is their job and they have to know what's strong and what's not. Perhaps "waste" was poor word choice on my part, because it is reasonable for Riot to expect their balance team to play the game to some degree. I'm just saying that companies tend to want to cut corners when it comes to cost. I would imagine when they interview people for the job, they can already see that the person plays league a lot and is passionate about it, so they can just let them voluntarily play however many games they feel is necessary rather than having a strict quota.
