As a level 6 camille pkayer I'm going to explain how to beat her

Rozair··50 votes·5,782 views

I am working on maining camille. She is fun and she fits my playstyle perfectly. I want to be able to play her without her getting banned every game. I find myself wracking up kills lime crazy and carrying my team 80% of the time. Then alot of the time the enemy team is raging at me that she is op and broken and no skill. Ha. So for you haters out there I want to explain how you not die to camille.

For starters it is impossible for her to one shot you. Camille needs her combo to do real damage. All of her qwe combo have counterplay.

Q: if camille hits you with this she will do one of two things. First she will either move away from you or continue beating on you. If she keeps beating on you then try to get away for her second q. If she moves away she is going to w you. Similarly to darius the outer half of her w will hit harder and slow by 90%. This will make camille kill you with her second q if you do not get away.

Her wall jump is very easy to avoid. Contrary to what you might think the closer you are to her point of attachment the safer you are. I once over jumped by a massive amount because I over jumped an enemy jhin and wasn't even close to him. It's also very hard to land as a camille player. If you want another way to dodge it just stay away from wall jump points. You could also flash it or jump yourself.

Her ult. Well her ult has a massive amount of power in it. You can't escape by any means on your own. Your team however can help you because they are unaffected by her ult. For this reason if the enemy team has a camille on it the best thing you can do is group. Camille is terrible at team fights.

Camille is fragile contrary to what you might think because of her passive. Actually the only reason she has a passive that good is because she would be useless without it. Team fights bring multiple sources of damage and negate her shield. She will die very fast with teamwork from your team.

One last small tidbit. Treat camille ult as though you would with zeds ult. Camille will appear in front of you. Prepare cc for when she lands and not while she's ulting. She will dodge these abilities.

Camille is not broken. She is doing what she is meant to do. She is frustrating for you because you do not know how to play against her. Other champions are much more deadly that camille but camille can be deadly. Hopefully these tips help.

EDIT: Honnestly I'm trying to help players to counter her. Please stop being so negative because I had no intentions of making anyone upset or angry.

camille e isnt hard to dodge

you're just terrible if you miss an ability with a hitbox that big what's next, you're gonna say pre nerf cho w was easy to dodge?

Rozair2 votes

When she uses her e a line will appear from the wall outwards in the direction she is going. Don't look at camille look at the line. It's a skillshot and it does not home in on you. She also does not shoot lightning fast at you so you can dodge it. It's hot box is the size of you and her. It's not a huge hit box. If you stay away from walls you wouldn't have a problem. Stay in the middle of your lane and move to the other side as soon as she uses it. Your positioning is your punishment. Camille is made for picking off out of place champions. Also just group up. You wouldn't 1v1 a darius so camille is similar.

Her wall jump is very easy to avoid.

lol

You have about 2-3 seconds to react. In this time you can guarantee a kill if you know what you are doing.

That feeling when people downvote actual good advice from someone with far more experience than them. Out of no other reason than being too salty and bad at the game to care or want to learn. Complaining 24/7/365 is easier.

Spaceman5pff3 votes

it wasn't good advice though.

The main offer for counterplay was to walk away from a champion with incredible chasing power.

Rozair3 votes

I never said that. Heres an example. Jinx vs Camille

Camille E's A fallen tower in bot lane chasing down Jinx. Right before the Wall jump connects Jinx flashes FORWARD Camille then ults jinx Jinx places traps right where Camille lands Camille with then W to heal But jinx keeps auto attacking Camille then Q's Jinx But by the time Camilles second Q is ready she is dead

The End

Thats how its done

Jhin is the only champion in the game with 0 Defense to Camille.

drakuIa4213 votes

so basically you're saying that if you're near camille you have to trade a summoner spell for a basic ability.

Sorioku9 votes

You just explained her play patterns. I'm sure everyone gets the basis of this.

Her and Irelia have the same issue. They dictate the lane. Does she want to jump on you? She can.

Does she want to jump away? She can. She can trade with q and heal with w

Gank potential unmatched.

Late game monster.

You can know her strengths but that doesn't mean you can stop it.

According to champ gg her win rate continues to climb higher the longer the game goes on, suggesting she scales really well, although the sample size may be too small to accurately judge.

Despite this though I've found her early game stupidly hard to deal with, but only against other diamond players. Everyone else doesn't really seem to understand her but when I face good players around my level using her there is simply no slowing her down.

Also I don't think I've dodged a single Camille e that was aimed at me at the appropriate range for the spell, so I have doubts about when you say that the ability is hard to land.

Yeah I think it's AoE so...

Yep, small AoE

Double dash + aoe stun on a basic ability...

uhm.... no wonder people say she's broken.

BoundaryBreaker2 votes

the aoe is absolutely miniscule

I have noticed that targets really close to the wall do not get hit by it. I have 27 games played as her and I have even taken the extra 1 second to try to hit enemies close to walls. I have failed every single time. Im guessing it has to do with unit collision but 99% of the time I have jumped over the enemy and missed them. Actually one time I went like a mini poppy ult distance over an enemy and over a wall on the opposite side of the lane. Her E is glitchy in reality. Yes it is easy to land close to you or on you but that doesnt mean you cant dodge it. Her E does more damage than you might think plus its a stun.

Honestly I think that her early game is her weakest part of the game. You have to be agressive because of her shield. Getting the jump on her rather than her jumping on you might help.

A nice, not complaining or toxic thread. Props to you sir! I'll definitely apply these tips next time I'm against Camille.

"Her wall jump is very easy to avoid." "It's also very hard to land as a camille player." https://media.tenor.co/images/1612e5f2555c94351fd3bfce2fac51f9/raw

MissingKayo4 votes

Game balance does not revolve around players who do know how to right-click.

coreychichi4 votes

Seriously just shut up. Idk what your here white knighting for, but turn on any stream of high elo players picking up this champ and they are having no problems dominating and landing her E with ease right off the bat. Or do diamond players not know how to right click?

I also love this guy saying he's just dominating all his games. "but shes not broken guys"

"I find myself wracking up kills lime crazy and carrying my team 80% of the time. Then alot of the time the enemy team is raging at me that she is op and broken and no skill. Ha."

I can count the number of times I've seen her miss that pathetically easy shot on one hand and even then it was only because someone was out of range. This is probably the most grotesque example of mobility creep this game has gotten so far.

Primaquarius4 votes

Probably pick champions she cant afford to ult without good reason, like maybe Darius Fiora Jax Khazix Renekton Tryndamere

MissingKayo3 votes

Don't forget Illaoi.

Primaquarius2 votes

Illaoi kind of has to kite while dropping her kit in order to be effective

MissingKayo4 votes

E-Ult. If Camille doesn't GTFO, she's dead.

TheHurricaneGamr3 votes

Anyone that stands in Illaoi's ult is asking for death.

Athenes Lulu4 votes

Then Camille has something like a Lulu on her team, and her teamfighting won't be absolutely shit.

Though a good tip is always group on her if she ever attempts to splitpush. She gets easily destroyed unless her team shows up.

Additional Info from another Mastery 6 Camille know knows she's not broken:

Camilles shield is on a long cooldown and doesn't even last that long. If she engages don't fight her with shield. Just run back until it fades and then initiate.

Just buy armor. I know she has true damage but that's one instance against many. I've seen Tryndameres and Yasuos and Riven get like 2 or 3 shotted by me when I'm fed. They complain, but won't even buy ninja Tabi, let alone randuins, etc. If you have zero defense, you're going to get bursted.

Not to mention a shitload of decent counters: Aatrox DrMundo Fiora Gangplank Jax Kayle Poppy Shyvana Talon Teemo Vayne LeeSin Tristana Vladimir

And then this: item 3157

Camille isn't broken at all. People just don't know the trick for fighting her yet. Her mobility and CC is incredibly slow, and easily predictable and dodgeable in comparison to something like a Renekton EEW. She has long cooldowns on her W and E which are her tools for actual tools. Q is just raw damage, and it takes her forever to get a lot of damage out. The only thing I'll admit to is the mana costs being slightly too low.

TL;DR Camille actually has very specific Windows for when she can go in since the entirety of her damage takes a long time to deal out between long CDs, having to wait for the second Q, and properly landing her W. She ain't broken.

Spaceman5pff3 votes

I don't even so much give a damn about her mana costs, but they need to SERIOUSLY increase the cooldown on her hookshot.

Automated Riven2 votes

from like 22??

If she Q's you in melee range, run away. If you run away she will use her W, and if she hits you with it you're dead. Dodge her E (just like 'dodge' lux binding) Rely on your teammates to save you from her ult, otherwise you're fucked.

WOW dude thx for those great suggestions that really helped. She's definitely not broken.

MatthewRT23 votes

Fiora can parry her ult and stun so thats a hard counter right there

MissingKayo29 votes

Fiora has no reason to parry the ultimate if her own is up. In contrast, she'd WANT Camille to ult her, because it'd be suicide. She'd parry the clearly broadcasted and incredibly slow E instead.

Primaquarius3 votes

Tru

NightmareAmazoX3 votes

Daym you right.

Parallelity2 votes

Camille can leave the ult though, so it wouldn't really be suicide

Spaceman5pff8 votes

Right, just a trade of ults, plus camille needing to blow a summoner to escape the chasing Fiora

Rozair2 votes

This happened to me once. It was epic for both me and fiora and we became friends after the game.

Finally some people with common sense on the gameplay boards. I wonder if the world is going to end today...

Commercial break first.

SpryCarpet3 votes

As a Jhin main, camille really frustrates me, but i do not think she is broken at all. Not being able to flash her ult is the only thing i really dislike about her. But these are some good tips. Question...if you get ulted by Camille, Can tahm kench eat you and get you out?

Final Spark Lux3 votes

I wonder if you'll still be a camille main after she gets nerfed

Spaceman5pff2 votes

truth tho.

Her kit is gonna get gutted to hell and back, but over time, kinda like every other light fighter not named Yasuo

TWITCHTV ERONATE2 votes

yeah, people switch mains like they were clothes. much dedication for a champ if you're playing it only when it's strong

My answer to Camille so far has just been Kled with Fervor of Battle. I've been hearing people say that Camille counters Kled, but in all honesty I don't see it. shrug I don't know, maybe I'm just a gold pleb.

My answer is Quinn. Only recently started playing her and I fought a lot of Camilles. None of them won.

PaladinNO1 votes

As a Camille level 6 player, how do you build her?

I only recently unlocked her, but I see so very many different builds and opinions, I'm honestly getting lost.

Can you halp meh out a little? :)

Rozair2 votes

item 3078 item 3812 item 3156 item 3748 item 3053 is a typical build you could also trade for item 3071

PaladinNO1 votes

So no boots on her? Or are those situational?

Rozair1 votes

In all honest if you were to trade boots for item 3046 it would probably still work lol

PaladinNO1 votes

In one recommended build, I saw them pick boots early on, then swap it for Static Shiv come the late game.

I'll have to give it some practice - only problem is I now own every champion, and I only play ARAM, so chances are small to get Camille. ^^ And we don't have Draft Pick on EUNE anymore (had I liked SR anyway), and Blind Pick...well, that's usually just a shouting match full of insta-lockers.

Well, we still got a week of Poro King left - all I can do is try both her and the builds there (if she's not banned ^^). :)
