So please tell me how exactly do you cancel a ranged attack?

It's understandable if you just cancel animation, but you can also cancel attack when your missile is already mid-flight and it will deal no damage. Why it isn't a graphical bug?

How I understand it: some champs have a difference in their code for exactly when their attack is treated as "hit", mostly on when the client registers damage being dealt. Vayne, I know, is chief example when her animation and when her attack is listed as "hit" is different from many other champs, so it's easier to 'cancel' the damage because her animation finished but her projectile hadn't 'hit' yet according to the game.

Of course I am also not a coding guru, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

You cancel them by clicking somewhere and you'll move towards there instead of finishing your attack.

And it works differently for Kalista who can't cancel attacks this way but they deal no damage if you lose vision of who you're attacking before you've finished starting your attack.
