I thought riot was trying to get rid of "feast or famine" oriented champs?

yet kindred is pretty much a text book case of feast or famine. she gets no stacks she is useless. if she is able to stack and snowball she is a hyper carry.

its pretty easy to deny her early jg stacks too by simply doing your camps. she would be silly to try and invade the enemy XinZhao LeeSin Khazix or Rengar anyway.

its pretty off putting. if she is denied stacks she is perhaps the most useless adc in this damn game. and EVEN IF she does gets stacks and gets to that hyper carryish status she still isnt vayne or jinx level... id even say she is below trist level just because her range is so short. so what is the point? ultra high risk for mediocre reward.

I dunno, her ult is pretty useful.

In the same way Bard's ult is. Although even more fiddly.

Which is to say it's extremely difficult to use effectively outside of organized play or extremely obvious cases (saving someone from a gank or someone being chased). And it is at the same time a real danger to everyone you are around.

True, but I figured out something it's useful for that not even Bard's ult can really do (well, actually Bard's ult can do the opposite).

Sieging towers. No joke, I use it on my own minions. With krug buff and minion manipulation, you siege like nobody's business.

Interesting, although that's a pretty niche use for a jungler. Kindred doesn't sound like the most splitpushy of champions so that sounds quite like a "win more" ability.

Maybe it makes more sense when securing objectives. Although again that it's risky kind of gamble. If you are close enough to cast it, you should be close enough to smite. If smite is on cooldown, I doubt that the few seconds will help. If it dos help in that regard you should probably buy a lottery ticket while you're at it, and it helps the enemy just as well anyway. So really I don't see it being convenient ever.

I would argue that it would be good bait. If you know the jungler is close when you are finishing d or b, you could throw it down when it gets within smite range to bait the enemies smite.

it is insanely useful if used correctly, however think about a kindred who was denied stacks by the enemy team helping there jg secure kindreds marks. now think of a kindred that isnt neccessarily behind in farm/exp/kills, but has only 0-2 stacks at the 30 min mark. all she has to offer to her team is her ult because her damage will be severely lacking and she has no hard CC. thats pretty bad if you ask me.

her ult is good but holy fuck is it easy to counter. Gragas Janna LeeSin Azir really destroys her ult and turns it in favor of the enemy team. with Janna in particular its nasty cuz u get double healed.

Eh.

Every champion suffers when they're behind, but their kit determines how relevant they remain.

Kindred's ult is a game-changer (like a Blitz hook), and her E provides some excellent cc. She's not as useful as, say, a Leona when her ult is off cooldown, but she's not a Master Yi who can't do anything but clean up when he's behind.

kindred suffers the most when behind. simple farming is enough to catch up if a champ is behind. kindred needs stacks. its similiar to a nasus with 100 stacks at 30 min mark..., except nasus can still be a tank and slowbot for his team even if his stacks suck.

On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being Master Yi, and 10 being Braum), I'd say they're a 4 when it comes to being useful when behind. Maybe a three?

Kindred is pretty much alright, with the passive you can always find ways to get to 6 stacks and that´s enough for her to do well. Also her ult provides a lot even if she´s behind...she can be a tad snowbally if she gets ahead, but there are worse offenders running amok.

If any of the above gets 1 kill rest in pasta have fun playing your early game against them But that's not the case with kindred, she needs passive stacks

In Kindred's CSV Phreak stated she was supposed to invade with friends. As odd as it sounds it seems like a laner is supposed to gank the jungle for you as opposed to you ganking a lane for them. Thankfully you have a kit that makes ganking lanes possible which can help her get stacks too. If you really want to get stacks from a jungle camp though I think your best option is just to wait until the other team's jungler is ganking.

Having such a squishy pick with very little mobility invade sounds really really risky; most of the time, people who are encouraged to invade have something in their kit to help pull it off.

I find Kindred so confusing because I thought Riot is trying to get rid of invades. Could be wrong but the idea of removing poacher's knife and recalling Riot doesn't like Junglers being shut down at the start too.

Then again I'm pretty sure Riot liked Junglers ganking but then there is devourer. Now I'm even more confused.

Unless preseason itemization changes happen and help a lot or (major) buffs to when she's behind, I am pretty sure they'll see even less competitive play than Quinn.

I think the whole feast/famine issue can be fixed by changing how her early passive works. By that I mean, making it so the first 3 stacks appear in her jungle, or something to that effect. (obviously, numbers can be changed, but you get the idea.) It would help her reliability out a bit. And quite frankly, if your team allows Kindred to get a ton of stacks through ganks then chances are you were screwed anyway.

Yea true in that past few games its always one Kindred is 10/0 and the other Kindred is 0/10... usually for me its the enemy Kindred thats 10/0... anyways i wouldn't say the Reward is mediocre it actually is very much worth the risk for that damage boost, not to mention she can go kill enemy champions for her stacks and not worry about jungle camps as those go away at 6 stacks anyways. So if you do think it is too risky you always have that fallback to go hunt enemy champions.
