The New Jungle

I am all for balancing the jungle so that all junglers can get an even chance, but I feel that a lot of champs are taking a huge hit from the new jungle. Mostly tanky ones, especially Nautilus, cannot perform nearly as well as any other jungler anymore due to the fact that the new jungle items prevent from getting the HP and armor needed to be tanky. This, plus the fact that the new Jungle really hurts, his lesser tankiness, and inability to use his shield for more than 2-3 seconds means he will have to back more than the enemy jungler. Ganking is also an issue, since his slow clear speed means he cannot get to any lane with enough health to not end up feeding. I've seen some builds and ideas that focus around smiting the Gromp and getting the poison buff to help clear speed and make him more of a threat. While it can work, losing the aggro from the Gromp and then having to fight the Blue buff without smite still leaves Nautilus and many tanky champs with lower health than more sustainable champs like Nasus, Warwick, or even Master Yi. Its pretty sad that I can leave a jungle to gank a lane with more health on a Shaco than I can with Nautilus. Even if Nautilus gets to the late game and is tanky enough to not get decimated, neither the Gromp buff nor the Red buff makes him a threat to the enemy team. At most, his CC will trap the ADC or a caster, but his medicore damage wont stop them from destroying his team. Overall, I think that their needs to be a change to give tankier jungle champs the same level playing ground as the more offensive oriented ones like Lee Sin, Warwick, and Master Yi. At the very least, give Nautilus a buff or a rework please.

Open with smiting gromp, so wolves without smite, get smite back just in time to kill blue with it (might need 3 points in summoners insight mastery). B after third camp for upgraded machete (it gives 10 more gold per camp than the base machete so you want to base early for it anyways). Clear second half of jungle. If doing raptors at low level, kill the small ones first.

As a side note, nautilus is not meant to be able to win almost any fight. He's meant to provide massive cc during a gank so the laners damage can get the kill, and in teamfights to lock down priority targets.

Which all isn't to say tanky junglers couldn't use a buff ;) just trying to help out until one might show up :)

I've found with tankier junglers that taking a harder leash on Blue, going to wolves, and then raptors while burning both pots puts you at level three and you can back for an upgraded jungler item then head back down to your red buff with smite at the ready.

Their early game is being hurt bad by the new jungle, no doubt, but if you build a bit more incrementally than trying to save up for one big purchase on your jungle item you do fine. Not to mention that most tank junglers can gank earlier than 6, which lets you put pressure down a bit sooner than the more damaging junglers who have weak pre-6 ganks.

Tank junglers certainly need buffs all around but we can still work around these changes.
