ThugWalrus1 votesGangplank doesn't work well as a tank because his base damage isn't very high and he has little CC. He also has to stand back to set up his barrels and a tank wants to be on the front lines. I mean I've played tankplank and it's not the worst thing ever, but you do feel pretty useless for the majority of the game.
Maybe if the true damage on his passive was a little stronger he would be an alright tank, since you could get it off quite often in a fight by exploding barrels. Also I have to admit I do enjoy building iceborn on him even though it sucks.
