can you just stop trying to change celerity?

seriously, the rune is fine as it is. stop trying to fix what isnt broken and focus on what is.

unless your goal is to break Hecarim

Celerity (S3)

Movement speed lowered from 3% to 1.5% Adaptive AD increased from 4.8% to 9.6% Adaptive AP increased from 8% to 16%

referencing the current pbe changes

this is just generally going to make the rune more champion specific, than to the players preference. if this goes through, its going to be more valuable on champions with inbuilt high movement speed bonuses, and less for everyone else.

wasnt the entire goal of the rune system to allow people chose chose runes according to their playstile and not the champion theyre playing?

It’s actually barely any AP at all if you do the math.

If spellbinder gave you 100 bonus movement speed it would give you a total of 16 AP.

It is pretty much a must-have on almost every jungler in the game. That + Waterwalking. I like my extra ms, but the rune is clearly a little too strong.

the fact that its used on junglers doesnt automatically mean its too strong.

junglers obviously value movement speed to get around the map a bit faster but thats pretty much it.

water walking is a different problem. the rune is obviously taken on junglers because of the recent buff to scuttle crab. if theyre going to put an objective of that kind of value into the river, then obv youll take a rune that makes you stronger in the river to contest it.

It's not just about junglers. Celerity is just always the right choice for almost everyone. ADCs and mages take it to be able to kite better, for example. The change is aiming at making the rune more desirable for champions with MS buffs in their kit, while not making it the default choice for everyone without it.

Basically moving it from a generalist rune to a niche rune. Honestly, I am taking Celerity on way too many champs, just because these 3% MS are always a good choice. Trying to make people pick something else from time to time doesn't seem that bad of an idea for me.

If only the other options were actually worth taking....

I like the change. It encourages different play styles more than the previous one. Now building a good bit of movement speed and building boosts on champions can provide a ton of stats innately.

id go as far as saying that transcendence is just as worth it. the ability to break cdr cap and getting 10% cdr for free is pretty underestimated.

the problem with absolute focus is, thats its useful on like 2 or 3 champions. which is the same shit theyre doing with celerity now.

instead of making one of the two generally useful runes in that row specific to a hand full of champions, maybe change absolute focus instead? in an ideal world, all non keystone runes should be attractive to a majority of the champions and your rune choices should just be defined by what you prefer instead of 1 rune synergizing with your champion when the others are complete ass. if celerity is a generally useful choice, then its doing its job and the other ones arent.

Riot will never address this properly because no sane person can, so they'll ignore it, push it through, and forget about it.

Wow, they are removing the only reason I picked this rune for some gimmicky Scaling.... disappointing...
