Allowing players full control of their MMR: An experiment

I understand this is already somewhat possible with how smurfs can steam roll games and skip divisions.

But with a change to how MMR works, I'd propose that Riot allow players to see their MMR and once every 2 weeks allow them to artificially inflate it for a "challenge mode". Let's say a Silver player is feeling himself/herself, and thinks they are ready to take on high Golds and get into Gold himself. Let them boost their MMR in challenge mode to play vs. higher skilled players for a base level of 6 games in exchange for higher LP gains in said games. Losing 2 games in this 6 game window ends the challenge automatically (it should be challenging) . Players with high levels of honor (3+) are allowed to lose one more game. Perhaps cut this feature off at Diamond 3.

This way, smurfs don't have to waste as much time in lower elos and low elo players can truly see where they stand. In mid to high Diamond I don't think this would help very much because breaking the ceiling of plat and below to Diamond seems a lot less difficult than breaking through mid Diamond +.

Thoughts?

This increases the randomness of player skill in games. No thanks.

99% of the time this idea would punish the other 4 people on the person's team by giving them a bad teammate. And it would inflate the MMR of the 5 opponents by giving them easier wins. No thanks. Smurfs dont have a problem. They climb.

Riot needs to do the opposite. They need to remove unranked players from games, by somehow using normals to give them a starting MMR, instead of screwing up 10 ranked games by throwing unranked players into them. (and not even with parity across the teams)

Maybe something like this could be done in Flex, by letting a full 5man ask for a "challenge game" with potentially higher LP gain and tougher opponents... but the enemies would have to get lower LP gain for winning.
