Runaan's extra bolts range nerfed way too hard

I sometimes can't even hit minions or champions that are within 150 units of what i'm attacking with the extra bolts, what is with the EXTREME range nerf? This item is almost needed on Kalista and is extremely low quality now because of how nerfed the extra bolt range is, in teamfights even when they're clumped i can only hit one person, it makes shiv/pd actually better...why would you do this?
