Why Vladimir is one of the champions in mid lane

I have played a fair share of mage champions, admittedly, they've always been my favorite. Whether it was Annie Ryze or Cassiopeia for a while. However, out of all 3, I would say Vladimir is one of the best and will give you three reasons why:

  1. Infinite sustain. Vladimir is a lane bully, probably the best in the game since Heimerdinger's nerf. No matter how much you try to damage and whittle him down, he'll be able to be back to full health in no time. In fact, there are only 2 ways to beat him during the laning phase. "Outdamage his sustain" or "out sustain him."I know a few champions that can do this, Riven and Nunu for example.

  2. One of the best pokes in the game. Once he gains Crimson Rush after casting transfusion twice. He is able to do a huge chunk of damage, up to 200+ at level 1, level 1! Zoning his opponents and forcing them to miss CS or lose a fourth of their health in the process.

  3. Decent damage with the proper items. I use the flash + protobelt + R + Empowered Q + E + W method for a guaranteed kill to any opponent below half or less health.

I've played close to 300 games with Vladimir already and I'm ready to play 300 more.

Anyone who calls Vlad a lane bully clearly has a bronze view of the game. His early game is THAT bad.

You can define a lane bully in different ways but generally speaking, lane bullies are champions that are very difficult to lane against. It's really hard to force a good Vladimir to leave their lane. More than often, it's my opponents that are forced to tower hug while I continually harass them with my Q every time they go for CS.

I feel like you missed a word in your title. Might want to fix that while you still can.

Which one?

I'm assuming "best" should be before "champions" but I might be wrong.

If you take him top you're going to have a rough time 50 percent of the time if he's up against Riven, Jayce, or Swain. Vladimir can't keep up with all-ins or their strong early games. That's why I can only keep him mid. :/.

Even in mid he's super weak early haha

He has a late power spike I admit, even level 6 doesn't give him enough kill potential to finish opponents with his long cool downs. Level 8 to 9 is when he starts to become a serious threat.

I disagree, Vladimir's winrates are actually lower in top than mid. Top was suited for champions with sustain and tank compositions. While Vladimir has the first latter, it's not enough to keep up with champions that have far stronger healing and tank compositions in their kit.

The problem with playing Vladimr in top lane like TehDude and I mentioned is his weak early game. He can't survive all ins without turret hugging until he's level 8 or 9. However, doing so completely destroys the purpose of getting farm early game to deal immense damage late game.

I chuckled to myself when I read that Vlad is a lane bully.

The only people he can effective do that to are melees with no gap closer. Those champs can just rush mr and farm up with little to no fear of Vlad. Anyone with an instant way all in Vlad or poke him faster than he can heal will destroy him early.

Yeah, this is entirely true and basically summarizes my point.
