how is kassadin
had him for awhile but never really played him, his new skin looks pretty good but i heard kassadin was pretty much destroyed with nerfs in the past. how is his current state, would you say that he is or isn't a viable pick currently

He has a pretty decent kit ATM but he turned into more of an anti-mage than an assassin mage, which hurt his identity quite a bit. He seemed decent in a 1 for all game I played with him, so that's that.

then wouldn't veigar fit his niche better because of his ult scaling with ap
Vs 4 man AP comps he is really strong. The main problem I have is he takes 20-25 minutes to really start scaling which by that point the game could be lost so in solo queue it is kind of up in the air.
his strength is he has really good mobility and solid burst, making picks really easy if you find one out of position, and chasing down targets laughable, his weakness is his laning phase where you just gonna be farming with W and poking with Q and praying for a gank, but if you survive laning phase he pretty good but i got the skin and i think its pretty awesome!
He is quite effective against AP Midlaners, thing is, you have to be safe until you finish at least two items (boots not included) because his early game is possibly the worse among AP champions, but once you start to get strong, you become a real headache for the enemy team. An advice? Try to train his farming playing against a friend in a custom game.
^this, Kassadin has garbage base stats but he scales well into late game. The reason why Kassadin isnt a popular pick in solo Q is because he heavily relies on his teammates thru the early and start of mid game. (For reasons stated above ^)
