I can't be the only one that laughs at watching enemy Sions.

"Oops, I can't catch up to you with my passive." "Uh-oh, you lazily walked out of my Q." "I'm running at you with my ult!" Bonk "Whoopsie-Daisy, I ran into a broken turret."

Aatrox: That's alright, Sion. It's not your fault that you're a negligible "threat". item 3070 item 3070

I was wondering when Riot was going to make a hilariously awkward champ.

And the best of ALL is the movement speed limit on his Passive that is limited at 397.

Oh crap, I didn't even notice that his movement speed got set at 397.

That's.... That's really unfortunate...

Nasus It seems that I am about to die from the ignite you put on me at the last second Sion. Just let me get a wither on you when you revive and get a nice coordinated Q using that extended autoattack range to save myself.

His new passive is a total joke. But what can you really expect from Riot?

RP Tzuyu2 votes

SIon's passive is not a joke... when u tower dive top 1v1 him, and u got hit by turret lol... that will make his passive worth

bdmblue7 votes

ya I played him a few times hes kinda sad right now. They called him unkillable and give him shitty hp hard to hit moves and made him worse then the old plain ad sion in his early game.

They need to listen to the testers who said he was impossible to kill and bring that back because that's what they said we would be getting in the 1st place

People keep complaining about his poor base health. But they're ignoring his shield, which scales off of HP.

Nautilus is a good comparison. He's another champion with a shield that scales off his health. He has middling base health because of it. Sion only needs to farm up 238 passive HP by level 18 to match Naut's base health. That's not hard at all to do. And I don't see anyone complaining that Nautilus is too squishy.

Hasztalan21 votes

are you really that fucking stupid or u just playing the dumb guy?

EVERYONE complains that Nautilus is utter garbage. He is squishy, slow, no cleartime, no dmg, his cc is hard to hit with all the dashing shits around. Basically there are nonstop QQ threads asking to buff him. Where in lorD's name are u living xD

The passive is designed for teamfights when the enemy doesn't have time to scurry away from him because there's 4 other champs working them over. With the output he has you'd better be able to get away from him! people not building him tanky has been what i've been seeing most comical. He has enough utility that he makes the most impact just front-lining for a team. Most players I see don't take the time to line the ult up or try weaving him through the jungle like they never watched the champion spotlight. Or they don't understand they can stop themselves by pressing R again rather than having to drive into a wall if they miss their target. My guess is as the competent players make guides and start getting watched and copied, you'll see sion improve. I certainly saw the potential for a great late game champion when i played him, but i never did and across-the-map-ult. i'd ult from like the distance of malphite's ult everytime.

Everytime i see people build new Sion tanky it makes me laugh. His passive drains % of his health, the more health you have the more likely you will die faster because you won't be able to keep up with that non existant lifesteal. His Q and ult deal a fair amount of damage if you build at least bruiser even if you don't get the full damage(and you will never get it ever anyway)

If you're building sion to maximize his passive you're doing it wrong, The point of sion is to not die in the first place. If you tank him up and throw some health on his soul furnace keeps him alive while he charges the axe in the middle of his team. If you aren't greedy about getting the full charge everytime you can often knock up most of the enemy. I will concede that there's a lot of people doing some pretty comical things with him but if you don't build any resistances on him then liandries and BotRK strip him down before he can do a thing. I don't expect to see him take world's in Season 5 but I think he's in a good place with some small tweaks. And once people get familiar we'll see more successful combos.

I'm not building him to maximize his tankiness, i'm just not building him straight tanky with 0 damage because there is no reason to do it

phyerbert1 votes

I just see so many sions with no resistances or health, they've gone straight damage and they're dead long before they can really do anything. It's hard to hear people gripe about a champion they aren't playing well. It's like playing ad syndra for the first time ever and complaining that riot made a bad champion.

The fact that his HP is drained in percentage means that building HP gives him negligible tankiness, you won't die faster but you will not die significantly slower either.

(for what it's worth, I think Sion is/can be actually pretty powerful. I've heard his win rates are sort of low right now, though, not sure how much of that is that he's undertuned or people not quite knowing how to play him, so hopefully he gets a minor buff?)

I had an enemy Sion chasing me and at one point, he hit is ult and ran towards his base. Guess he clicked in the wrong direction.

The first time I saw the new Sion on the enemy team I kept waiting for him to do something amazing. We played cautiously because it seemed like he was waiting to catch us by surprise. It never happened.

When Sion Jungle misses and just slams into the border wall. Or when you're Anivia top against a Sion and you Crystal block him.

His passive is weak, but people learning how to play him and failing does not mean he is actually bad. People really don't get how to use his ult I've noticed. They seem to think you need to do it from far away or crossing a lane (which almost always misses), and the truth is that it's best as a short range initiate. If it's used as a gank tool I've found it works best from behind the enemy coming from their turret or from down your own lane (usually best to catch someone turret bashing). And honestly I've had a lot of failures with the guy too, but when I play him well (rarely) he can be devastating.

Meep Man1 votes

The reason Sion is bad is he requires a SERIOUS crowd control team to be viable like anyone with a point and click stun or Malphite.

Delioth1 votes

OMG! We need to bring back the Taric/Sion Botlane! In all reality though, it would be pretty damn strong. Same thing with a Zilean/Sion lane

While sion doesn't suck (Played 3 games with a friend who played sion, he rekt every time) he is an awkward champion who can easily be evaded by high mobility or sometimes even moderately mobile champs.

Kuroi861 votes

He could use some tweaking imo, but he's got an interesting kit and I'm enjoying learning how to play him.
His base stats could use a few minor buffs, but nothing major. His passive really needs some of the hard caps taken off, it just feels so limiting. His Q is where I think he needs the most work, with adjusting the base damage with a short charge to make it worth using. His ult is good I think, though I wouldn't mind if they took the ms cap off of it, it's not like he's ever going to pull off a global ult, even with maxed move speed, it really wouldn't do too much for him.

Melissee1 votes

The best one is when a sion missed my team and went clear into our fountain turret. For some reason it didn't target him until his ult stopped but he didn't escape lol.

manliestdino1 votes

Don't worry. I'm laughing too when I play sion.
