True Balance must be a sin.

I've gotten bored of only seeing nerfs and buffs to mainsteam LCS status champions. What ever happened to Poppy, Shen, Malzahar, Taric Trundle, Urgot, Yorick, Zac, & Zyra? These are just a few examples of champions I personally don't see much of, if at all. Why is that? I keep seeing champions that LCS play, while the other champions rot in the background. Is it a crime to put effort to balance other champions too? Or is it just that hard to find out why they aren't played much and what to do with them? I have more fun playing champions that you don't see much of, but I feel that they just under-preform most games, so I end up playing champions I see a lot of just to win.

Besides gameplay, what about re-balancing IP costs for champions? An ever growing pool of champions should reduce IP costs overall. More champions? More IP to spend, not to mention players that need to set up rune pages still. You're lucky to save up for a new champ (6300 IP) in a week if you win most of your games. Buying every champ with IP will take several years for casual players that don't feel the need to pay real money on a FTP game and don't play 24/7.

To be fair, besides Trundle and Malzahar and kind of Poppy, all of those other champions went through a time of when THEY were the pick/ban, and people said the same thing now that you are saying during their hayday. Poppy is just weird because of her kit.

This is exactly what I'm getting at. Champions shift in power and favor of buffs/nerfs, pick rate, ban rate, making them LCS worthy, etc. From what I've noticed, most of the newer champs overpower the older ones either because they simply offer more due to their kit, or in terms of 1 v 1 fighting strength against an older champion of the same role. Look at Irelia. She just recently got a change after 3 years. That's a bit too long in my opinion. We need more consistent small changes to keep things in order is all. :/

Irelia got a change? Got got an increase to her armor by 4 and a decrease to her E damage recently. Also, when Riot did that, people bitched about how the meta stayed the same because everyone just got a slap on the wrist instead of real nerfs.

I do understand what they mean by taking it slow, having a bigger nerf would make even more people complain. What if they did a HUGE change like nerfing Draven's Q from 80% bonus AD -> 50% bonus AD? Instead of something like 80% -> 70%. What would cause more of a... (cough) riot? Lol.

Slow steady changes until the champion finds an ideal spot in power is the way to go. Also, when people get used to a nerf and are still reallly good with the champ, then they slightly change something again, you barely notice it.
