The best way to play the reworked Kayle right now. (in my opinion)

As of right now, I found that most top laners in their current state won't allow Kayle to farm because of her weak early game, you get bullied out way too easily. Kayle jungle I find is the best way to play her because of this. My playstyle as jungler has been, Burst first, attack speed later. What's the point building that attack speed if Kayle being in melee range is a death sentence in the early game? Q max first while in the jungle as well. Tried E max first with attack speed, but clear went horrible until 6.

Skill order: R>Q>E>W

Rune choice, I found Fleet Footwork to be my most preferred. Extra kiting and sustain for her early game is nice to have.

My standard build for her jungle has been this. item 1402 item 3006 item 3025 item 3124 item 3116 item 3091

I know some of you are like... "WTF ICEBORN??? HAHAHAHAHA!!! THIS NOOB TROLL BUILD! REPORT! REPORT!" (This happened to me before. Lol. Typical games trying new things am I right?) -teammate sees weird build- "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" Relax fam, it's normals. [slayer-jinx-unamused] Ahem... E is a ranged basic attack, it applies Iceborn. The kiting it gives can help get so many kills or help you get away. Also makes landing Q easier. It's a legit item and also the armor and mana it gives is nice to have.

Last two items can always be swapped out for item 3115 & item 3089 if you prefer, but they are more expensive. Buy them if you're fed. With my build, every item is under 3k except rageblade, so it is very cost effective.

Hope this can help some of you out playing the new Kayle a bit. [sg-lux]

you won't get to lvl 11 with against any competent team as a kayle jungle. jungle exp is just too gutted for that, and kayle by herself have no way of fighting invaders

The thing is: it got already stated that if Kayle shows up to be a jungler primarily, then Riot will make changes to her to force her out of it.

What you're saying is that you play too aggressively and don't know how to farm under turret/at a range with Kayle despite her ranged options?

Just play her as AP support than, she is completely built for it.

Iceborn Gauntlet's slow doesn't stack with Rylai's though.

Plus, Rylai's is cheaper, and gives more valuable stats.

Honestly I found it too difficult to deal with most champs early game and just deal with the fact that I won't have much farm in most matchups. BUT I also found that kleptomancy helps with the early gold deficit since you can proc it with your E, when you get to lvl6 you can actually trade a bit and maybe kill someone. My build is usually gunblade > nashor's > GA, start with corrupting potion

It's not much fun pre-6 but after that you shouldn't be behind because of all the klepto items and gold and you scake pretty well I don't see the point in taking fleet/pta/lethal tempo cause you don't get anything from them early and later on you already have a lot of attack speed so if you ask me, best keystone for toplane Kayle right now is kleptomancy.

Riot doesn't want Kayle to jungle.

As SatomiKun said, If Riot discovers she's succeeding better in the jungle they will fix it.

Run Kayle with Klepto and Spellthief. You get gold even without having to farm minions early and just catch up and burst down waves when you get your waves.

So I tried Kayle support... even that works better than her solo laning. She just doesn't have tools, or probably just stats, needed for a solo lane. Primarily damage in the early stages feels terrible for both farming and harassing. From what we understand, Riot actually wants her to be like this, which isn't really a good or healthy idea to begin with. Absolutely terrible early into a late game god. She's a 0-100 type champion that doesn't fit with their current "early game damage wins" meta. If they want a hypercarry with a somewhat weak early game, but can still trade and fight, they should probably look at Vayne or KogMaw and ask themself why they work better as a scaling type champion than Kayle currently is.

If I were the one designing her, maybe I'd give her bonus defenses while melee as a tradeoff for her lack of damage early on, then once she hits level 11 lower her defenses. They have a champion like Jayce that does this in a way with his R. Melee mode beefs him up, ranged makes him squishier.

"Jayce transforms the Mercury Cannon into the Mercury Hammer, gaining new abilities, becoming Melee role, gaining 5 / 15 / 25 / 35 (based on level) bonus armor and bonus magic resistance"

In Kayle's case she would lose the bonus armor and magic resist as she levels. Once at 6, then at 11.

Another possible change I can think of is to change her Q to "stop at the first champion hit" instead of "first enemy hit" like it currently is so she can possibly farm using it. I'm fine with how it currently is though. A little weird to use, but you can poke through minions, though I feel like it's currently bugged? Q point blank doesn't seem to hit anything behind what you hit, but casting it at max range does. Anyone else notice this?

Her late game is absolutely terrifying strong as we all know, I would even say to nerf that. Never before have I gotten two Pentakills in a single game. I'm just an average silver/gold level casual and that didn't feel like I put much effort into accomplishing that. [sg-lulu]

What happens when you constantly invaded by the enemy jungler? Any decent jungler is gonna be all up your ass and it'll be a living nightmare.

Zane Zephyr3/13/2019, 6:49:14 AM1 votes

Don't get used to this because riot already said if people start jungling with kayle to try to avoid her early game weaknesses they're going to nerf it.
