Top season 6 flaws in my mind.

Season 5 started from pre-season Kalista to fiora face scandal, and WCS huehuekaiser which provided hillarity and glaring balance issues that yet still needs to be fixed. Just hear me out what I thought was this years major flaws.

1: The preseason updates Ah the preseason, I still remember when the ADC role that was bullied to oblivion for two whole seasons by katarina/akali and weedwick and mordekaiser, were offered uniqueness to their kits. But do you remember what was strong and banned every match at that time? Literally the very keystone warlords bloodlust. And this was the very beginning of a whole season of Yasuo bonanza. By the way, all of the major preseason updates are hardly memorable now aside Graves summoner 11 . Even one update KogMaw was scrapped. Seriously.

2: Armor pen boiz So, what was impactful in the end? Actually the minor updates stole the meta instead. item 3071 item 3142 Lucian Remember this? Instead of creating dps, burst champs on botlane just cheesed the whole crit-class adcs with their level6 multi-hit ults. Lucian and MF were the first to start this. Although MF was already well-known to build cleaver on her build. Lucian resulted into a high-burst. dps, high mobility champion. This made a huge impression on the whole community and every adc seemed to not build crit. Aside from ashe and cait perhaps.

3: Tank assassins/Tank mages/tank marksmen. Every year, tank mains insist on buffing their kits so they can get the spotlight. But somehow this years most largest derp stems from riot whom actually gave everyone tank stats.Too many items seem to just randomly have Hp tagged on them. The result was a trend of champions with high % damage/dps and sticking power being tanky which stemmed over the year. With Ekko , Graves and nowYasuo, it seems this issue is yet to be solved. This was unfun. But at least item 3116 this will be dealth with.

4: This. item 3124 This item created just ludicrous damage on every champion that could build it, with a cost efficiency of what...3000g when stacked!? The return of AP yi was just the icing of the cake. The item was the only thing that made kog viable the whole season, and was a abomination to behold with near 60% winrate. (I just hired a friend duo to pick kog and buy guinsoos and press W and stand still for me for this seasons gold promos, just to be sure I win.)

5: Regen tanks. Ah, the days when mundo was running around with strength of the ages and nobody knew what this did. item 3123 It is just design wise failed for swain, vlad and mundo to be balanced on this item alone. (I know morellos can apply GW, but they build visage so it hardly reliable than exes.)

6: Healbot raka Another healing issue. The Soraka update created one of the largest RAGE inducing matters over the whole community that the boards and reddit actually stopped talking about yasuo to actually discuss serious matters. Regarded one of the most uninteractive but stupidly impactful strategies deployed in this year. Healbot raka, which involves the soraka miles away from the allied adc and healing from afar, never to use other ablities made people foaming from their mouths since it was a granted stalemate or win. The hillarious part was that this strategy not only made enemies confused but also allied adcs as well since their support is just miles away from them.

7: Some reworks ideas seriously needs to listen to the PBE community. By the gods...what on earth happened on the mage update. Malzahar Malzahar the most reliable carry nullifier was reworked into...something uncomprehendable even by malz mains. A lot of feedback were imputted into the PBE boards, like how the barrier was just OP as hell, and how he deals no damage aside from situational terms of his bugs. Nerfed to oblivion, he is just now really unsatisfying to play. This made a certain sentiment, stemming from the mord update that riot hardly listens that spanned for 3 times of major reworks.

Well, that is just about what I can recall...but the major issues is that these problems are hardly solved yet. I know that riot needs to keep some stuff, and the opposite vice-versa but, I really hope next season will be more fun than this one. (Geez...I even had like 3 of my main champs like worst winrate for like 3 whole monthsSyndra Hecarim Rumble )

What are your opinions?

The single biggest flaw was unquestionably Dynamic que.

The single biggest flaw was unquestionably Dynamic que.

I found it hardly recognizable since I was mostly solo. Bad duo botlane was already a meme for long anyway. Although I can see ranked become casual.

But to be honest here, isnt this dynamic meme just a excuse for people who cant even make to gold? Like the toxicity memes were confusing as hell as well.

Eh, it really screwed with matchmaking.

Last season, I found most games would have about a 4-division difference between the players within it.

This season, it wasn't uncommon to run into people 7+ divisions apart.

While the overall teams may have been balanced, having a Platinum 2 against a Gold 4 in lane could let a game snowball very easily.

Honestly, I'm surprised you didn't include keystone masteries as a whole.

Aside from Warlord's Bloodlust at the start of the season, they are part of the reason armor penetration builds and tank assassins were such an issue this season.

Armor pen and on-hit builds would have been far less effective without the extra on-hit damage provided by Fervor of Battle. Assassins would have been far less effective when built tanky without Fervor of Battle, Thunderlord's Decree and Grasp of the Undying providing enough additional damage that they could kill squishies without many damage items.

Oh yeah, well that was my implication that the keystone itself overcrowded a whole class of marksman champs in the meta. After this, we had league of thunderlords. Yasuo and trynd sustaining like nasus was some hillarious stuff that I hardly think was tested

I've played Soraka all season, and got to Gold playing only support this year.

None of the things you mentioned were the problem. The first main problem was how quickly and efficiently she could build Warmog's Armor for the Warmog's Heart passive. That is meant to be a late game item, and support's don't reach their end build often, especially without proper wave clear. Once she builds that item she becomes very powerful, but that power was meant to be saved for much later in the game. Riot also learned from that. She is much weaker early game with a high CD on W, and the grievous wounds (the other major reason) changes were reverted quickly enough. (I have negative opinions on grievous wounds, but they did contribute significantly to Soraka's a huge power spike.)

You also missed some big things like keystone masteries and dynamic queue. Keystone masteries were responsible to for making balancing problems much worse. And dynamic queue, well a few of my friends that were Silver last year are in Platinum or Gold 1 currently.
