SEKAI2 votesA few items in and a good use of barrel can almost 100-0 a squishier character with a single 'kaboom'. GP's damage is pretty insane in later stages of the game.
Also, GP's oranges makes him a lot harder to be punished by Lux even if he were to be rooted by the latter.
I wouldn't call GP mid and up against a Lux a "troll pick" personally. Seems solid to me.

Gp used to be the go to counter to Malz, but since he's on extended leave in the void gp mid has suffered.

No only is GP mid viable but it's a higher win rate than GP top...
How about you take a couple hours and read every champs kit? Then you'd know better than to expect a successful gank for a low level GP...
Let the guy farm and go camp bot lane.
