Don't bring a champion into ranked unless you have 6 mastery or higher

This post is mostly for players under diamond, but I'm sure it could apply at least in some degree to high elo players as well. Players need to stop bringing champions into ranked that they don't have enough experience with. Practicing champions is what normals are for. One-trick ponies are a special case, but for the rest of us, you're doing yourself and your teammates a disservice by bringing a champion into ranked that you aren't well practiced on. There are plenty of players like myself who only bring high mastery champions into ranked because it's the intelligent thing to do, and when you, as a player who just plays whatever in ranked, youre putting yourself, and therefore your team, at a disadvantage right from the start. On the occasion I get a team with mostly 6 or 7 mastery champions, we almost always win. When I get a team full of people who are inexperienced on their champions, we usually lose. It's not rocket science people, stop screwing yourselves over. I am aware that there are other almost certainly larger factors when it comes to winning, such as macroplay for instance, but this is definitely the first step in the right direction.

Rank 5 is really a grind, and rank 6 can also be tricky because of how the rating system works. Limiting your champion pool to only mastery 6+ champions is a huge gimping factor, you dont need to grind 30+ games to be able to play a champion. Some champions are niche picks, like rammus, or morgana.

Mastery is not an indication of skill whatsoever. It's simply an indication of how much time you spend playing the champion. I have Mastery 7 on Kench for instance, and I'm the worst Kench NA.

I'm Silver V and I think getting Mastery 6 and 7 are stupid, I had a 2/9/12 gangplank with 90 cs get a S on rank. As for practicing in Norms-- that doesn't work, normals wont help you when there is no stress so everyone is basically running it down mid. But hey that's just a theory, a game theory!

plz

Maybe your normal games aren't stressful, but it's always good to see how long you can hold the enemy team, when your toplane is afk, and your jungler is 0/12, overfeeding yi and yasuo.

Mastery 4 would be good enough. Mastery 6 is just being plain harsh.

Alright, I'll go play Galio whenever I'm on your team in ranked. Never mind that I got that mastery 7 back before he was reworked. But I must be an absolute god with him, since I've got a mastery 7 on him, right?

...well if you're going to complain at that then you might as well make the bar mastery 8 only. (i know mastery 8 doesnt exist, but it might as well)

what makes someone who can spam their mastery 6 token any better than someone who can spam their mastery 5 token? 3 s ranks and 4k IP? whoopity doo
