The problem with ranked, why i don't feel it's worth playing.

Past two games, botlane has been 0/10. Last game, teemo went 0/6 against a shen. A FUCKING SHEN. Playing ranked is completely useless and gets me nothing except anger and frustration. I don't need some bullshit badge that says "platinum" to validate my level of success in this game and you shouldn't either. The second that a game made to be fun isn't fun anymore, it's pointless. The problem with low elo is that it takes someone of at least platinum skill level to have any chance at winning these games like i have described above. I have a friend in platinum who is currently smurfing, I find myself winning just as little games as i do solo while playing with him.

If a player in the top 12% cant carry games with the bottom 50%, THERE IS A PROBLEM! My brother got his account boosted by a diamond adc main. That's right, A DIAMOND PLAYER (top 1% of players) could just barely if at all get 2 wins to 1 loss in bronze 2.

The entire problem is that if someone is silver or gold skill level, they cant get out of bronze or silver. Got another friend who placed high silver last season and climbed to mid gold. This season he can barely get past s5.

If nearly 60% of the lower elo community says that there is a problem, maybe, just maybe there are some competent people in the 10,000,000+ players in low elo. Just because someone is low elo doesn't mean at all that they cant analyze a system correctly and logically. It also does not mean that person is stupid. If you are one of those people that bases someones overall intelligence by a video game, clearly you're an ignorant bitch and your opinions should not be respected.

People who continuously feed in ranked games should be banned from playing ranked until their kda increases in normals. Laggers and afkers should be restricted completely. You shouldn't be allowed to play a champ in ranked unless you have mastery 4-5 with it.

For all the people who say "if you truly deserve a higher elo you'll get there"

You see, the problem with that statement is that i actually have a life. I need to maintain good grades in school and make money. I honestly do not have time to play several thousand ranked games in a season, and i sure as hell am not about to devote my life and soul to this game trying to get a rank so the kids on a forum site will respect me.

Thank you for reading, feel free to comment with opposing opinions. This thread was written quickly and was not intended to be of similar quality to an entrance essay to an ivy-league college.

Just as someone who skipped out on Season 5, got back in about 2 months ago, got put into Gold 5 ranked a month ago, and am now in Diamond 4-5 after about 2-3 weeks of ranked games (Took roughly 200 games, which historically, is how long it took me to get to diamond), you need to realize that when it comes down to it, the one common factor in all of your solo games is yourself.

I main support and have had strings of games where I felt like top/mid just fed constantly, or my ADC is picking and losing bad trades bot, or my jungler isn't making a big enough impact. I've also had games where the same things happen to the enemy team, and this happens for multiple games in a row.

At the end of the day, it all balances out at some point and you're only left with figuring out how to improve your own game. If you've found yourself bouncing around the same division for 30-50 games, but you really want to push yourself up into the next division, what are you doing wrong that you could improve on? Looking at some stats on op.gg, you could probably participate in more of your team's kills, die less, and pick champions you've had success with. So long as your win rate is over 50%, you'll eventually advance.

Whatever the case, thinking you're some special snowflake who's being gamed by a system trying to keep yourself from advancing to where you rightfully belong isn't really the right way to go about ranked play. I wish I could hit Master tier, but I'm realistic enough to admit that at best, I'm roughly low diamond, possibly high plat at the moment.

Could you coach me by any chance? I would really appreciate it.

I like how people complain when they introduce Dynamic Queue to involve more teamplay cause they all wan't to be Solo and carry themselves, yet complain when they can't carry themselves out of Bronze. Either get some people and play like a team to win or just become good enough to carry your terrible teammates.

When you play as a group, riot matches you with people that have much higher mmr to compensate for your advantage. This is not an efficient way of gaining elo quickly unless you have a group of 3-4 people who clearly deserve a vastly higher elo than they're in.

just remember the actual point of the game is to have fun and enjoy it.

here is a though about rank...

rank isnt something to be ashamed of. i feel rank is just a way for riot to put players of similar skill levels vs each other so they can have fair games and enjoy and have fun playing the game... hear me out...

you are bronze.. what if every game you matched vs plats and diamonds? and you get stomped up and down the map and the game is no fun to you.. are you likely to keep playing if that is what happens every time?

on the other hand if your plat/diamond whatever "high" elo if you playing vs people lower skill level then you is that fun not every being challenged? it would be like if you were to go play a game co op vs bots or a custom game vs bots and the difficult is set on easy?

how fun is that?

so in theory rank is there to put us vs people we have a chance to win against while being challenged so the game is fun and rewarding at the same time and keeps you playing..

I honestly would love to be matched vs plat and diamond players as it would force me to quickly adapt to their skill level. I know that a lot of other players wouldn't like that.
