I think I may have lost some IP boosts in a custom game

I don't mean the actual IP boost. I mean it counted towards one of the wins (and you only get 4 from the free one). As you know in custom games you get zero IP, but it still counted as one of my wins. Is this seriously the way it works? Shouldn't the game detect if you're doing a custom game so they don't count it?
