Honestly, I don't think further powercreeping darius is the answer

Let's take a look and see what can be done for darius indirectly.

  1. nerf gnar, ok, riot is doing that and they're fucking his mallet build, good.

  2. nerf adc itemization and maybe a couple of the strongest ADCs directly. Riot isn't doing that at all, whatever.

  3. strip tanks of some of their % max hp damage, especially some of the horrific outliers like ornn and chogath who can literally just outtrade darius at almost every point in the game with minimal skill. Riot botched ornn nerf by fucking his W (still helped darius since he can now apprehend him out of it) but did nothing to chogath who just beats darius early mid and late LUL.

  4. Supports need to come online later, the gold generation as well as cheap cost of their items COMBINED with just how fucking efficient their itemization is really fucks over champs like darius. You get out of lane phase and whether you're fed or not the enemy bot lane, if they beat your bot lane, are guaranteed to beat your ass 99% of the time regardless of how fed you are.

Buffing darius directly is just giving in to the power creep, the balance laziness. He's already stronger than his "broken" season 5 iteration that came out fresh after the juggernaut update.

For a champ like volibear, buffing him makes sense, but for a champ like darius in his current state? I don't think it's necessary.

Just look at the consequences of the fairly big powercreep he got in his last buff.

Somehow darius is fucking annihilating riven who is a known darius counter especially in higher elos (op.gg only does plat+) with a 52.5% win rate in that matchup.

To paraphrase a quote from Madam Mim in Disney's Sword in the Stone: "How Utterly Delightful". (Rivens often tilt me off the face of the earth as a Darius. Doesn't matter if I win or lose the matchup, I just know I'll come out tilted.)

But to be serious, I can see why the concerns are rising. As a Darius main (He's my highest in Champ Mastery, L7 and all that jazz) my tried-and-true pick and pretty much favorite champ in LOL, I understand those concerns. Really, he doesn't need any more damage. Play your cards right and you can win any matchup; that applies to every champ in LOL.

But if anything, as others have said, this will make him seemingly stomp in low elo where people are much less knowledgeable, and in high elo... he might be better or worse? Not really sure what to say, since I am but a Silver II plebian. You can probably fill in that part for me.

Edit: Fixed some spelling errors, silly me.
