:/ I dunno, but I have the same question. I used to love cycling through the featured spectate game in the LoL Client. Then Riot decided they wanted to advertise esports all the time. I moved on to downloading replays off lolking, but those haven't worked for me since the season ended. It could very well be a serious question.

Oh my. I forgot about this. I used to do it but I had to edit the batch file every time to get it to work. It was really annoying. I was supposed to write a small program to automate the fixes. Never got around to it and I guess I stopped going there. I think I'll check them out again. I loved the way you could choose any champion you want and find recent high level games of someone playing that champion.

If you get it to work and need to change anything, let me know. I've been sort of desperately checking with both the new and old client active, just for nothing to happen. I feel like a puppy that keeps getting kicked in the face by his master, only to run back and hope he'll pet me this time...

Incidentally, lolking did start working for me again. However, I came back to post the other way I forgot to watch high level people. You can do it directly from the in client ladder rankings! In the legacy client, go to Profile -> Leagues -> View Challenger Tier. Anyone with an eyeball icon on their name is currently in a game, and you can spectate that in real time. It doesn't give you the information featured spectate did of champion and game time, but it's a guaranteed way to know you're watching actual [very] high level people.

Ah cool. Didn't know this. Good looking out bro.

Speaking of Twitch. Is there like a comprehensive list somewhere of all the high level streamers ?

I'm not big into Twitch. Not enough ability to change fog of war or rewind time for my taste, sorry. Most of the people I know that do watch streams either found people they liked through friends, or just browsed the most popular ones. And unfortunately, that doesn't really go for the "high level" part.

When I was desperate, I did start doing searches for players that I found in game, since a lot of higher level players do stream in the hopes they'll make it big. I found a couple Veigar and Zilean players with inactive streams but good historical videos that way.

I do that already but sometimes I wanna have some control over who and where I'm watching.

Stop by GD.

Ask some of the high level players who commonly hang out there if they will let you add them so you can spectate games. Many of them stream from time to time. Most are friendly enough to add players who would like to watch in client or on stream. The concentration of high level players on that sub board is extremely high, you can find one for any role and almost any champion.

Forgive my ignorance but whats "GD" ?

EDIT: Nevermind, you meant "general discussions".

There's always some pretty high tier players on Twitch. Doublelift has been streaming a lot during his break from professional play.
