So basically...... Ornn can't even fight Yasuo anymore?

Azadethe··5 votes·2,136 views

Okay. I know that after so many nerfs to Ornn, I generally Argue I can perform well, but wow....

I just went Ornn jung vs a Yasuo mid. Now.... I know Ornn's ult has always been able to be wind walled.

But... I discovered something else. I've been getting my E disrupted for a few days and wondering why. So I went back, and watched a fight with this Yasuo. Several things:

  1. Aparrently there's a bug/error when Ornn's Ult hits a Yasuo mid Sweeping Blade. Late game, I had a 3v1 where I hit Yasuo with the second hit of my ult, and several things happened:

a) His Maw of malmortius activated (meaning I did indeed hit him) b) He didn't get knocked up (Mid ult he E'd to a minion that was inside the Ornn R, which is when the Maw Shield procced, but he didn't get knocked up. Aparrently it doesn't prioritize cancelling his E)

  1. Aparrently You can't Brittle Knockup Yasuo (after he managed to miracle avoid a knockup on my R, I managed to get a Brittle proc on him while he was auto attacking me for 700s. I hit him on it, and he never got knocked up there either).

  2. After I Expired Brittle on him, he E'd himself into position next to our downed Inhibitor Pile. I attempted to E him and knock him up there. Instead, he had Gathering storm up again by then. He Gathering Stormed into my E. Aparrently his Knockup takes precedence over my E charge, and he disrupted me mid charge.

In other words..... in 15 seconds, this Yasuo pulled at least 2, maybe 3 miracles off (Third is probably an allowable mechanic).

I might mention: This was all in a 1v3 where my Galio and Anivia were in there too

I'm not a delicate streamer..... but someone wanted to see it:

Your ultimate did not hit the yasuo sadly. He was burning in that time due to somethin like maybe liandry's torment or scorch - that just activated his Maw passive in the second your ultimate rushed by him. So he wasn't brittled of course.

Revisiting the video and indeed, the yasuo is marked as "airbone" even while dashing.

That his knockup interupted your dash is absolutely fair.

The brittle from your W did ran out just the second you were hitting him as its duration was decreased from 6 seconds to 3.

You could say it was a serious of unfortunate events but ~~everything ~~most things looked as intended (watched that on 0.5 speed.)

Your comment made me look and correct a few things, but I'm going to correct a few of yours:

  1. There is evidence the Ult DID hit. When the second goat passes, Yasuo turns blue (brittle)

  2. The W was NOT the source of the brittle that failed to knockup. It was the ult's Brittle, which is why it had time to expire. The W, even though he should have been in the hitbox, never actually procc'd Brittle (maybe pre-existing cc overwrites new cc of the same type?)

Ult did hit him and the knockup did not fail. Check again and you'll see that when the second cast of your ult hits him, it clearly says "Airborne" over his nameplate.

Azadethe1 votes

Says Airborne but he never stopped at all, never had a knockup animation, and went right on to another E.

He has the brittle mark on him after the ult "hits" watch it again

Replay.

Azadethe1 votes

Know an easy way to do that without setting up a complicated video capture? I have Open Broadcaster, but it's a pretty annoying setup. I can try to do a simple one without getting pretty with it.

ModWulf Helhammer1 votes

download the replay from match history, upload to something like plays.tv or youtube

Azadethe1 votes

You have to do a bit more than that..... the download just gives you access to the replay. From what I understand, after you do that, you have to use a capturing program.

  1. Could be a way the dash/your ult is coded, could be a bug

  2. Most likely 100% a bug

  3. Pretty sure that is how it's supposed to work. In which case it makes it more likely that 1) was also a bug

  1. Yas E is supposed to be canceled by anything that would disrupt champion control, unlike most dashes, due to it's spammable nature (Yasuo has this hard-coded as the interaction between his dash and most CC). If it isn't being disrupted, its a bug.

  2. Def bug.

  3. Ornn's E isn't unstoppable, so him canceling it isn't unusual/impossible.

Video just looks like he outplayed you guys.

I just played against Yasuo as Ornn in 3s and stomped the fuck outta him.

There is no outplay in bugs.

RenownedWheat421 votes

It is what the whole thing looks like though.

He did get hit by the ult knockup, but outplayed literally everything else. The E charge from Ornn can be stopped by CC, too, so that's no bug.

Ornn was not CC'ed during his E in the clip. Though I am personally not too sure if downed turret count as terrain, but if yes, then there was a bug there too because the AoE knockup did not trigger upon Orrn colliding with the turret remains when he E'ed.

Also, the ulti goes completely null is a very big factor. I wouldn't downplay it.

No matter whether it was 1 or 2 bugs, I wouldn't consider any win that's interrupted by or even caused by a bug to be anything worthy to be called an "outplay".

RenownedWheat421 votes

Yes he was. He gets hit by the tornado before he reaches the turret. It does count as terrain, but he HAS to hit it first before the knockup can occur. That's not a bug - he didn't make it. He got interrupted.

Ulti didn't go completely null. You clearly see over Yasuo's head that it says Airborne.

Are we even watching the same clip?

When Ornn was charging during E at 7sec mark of the video, there was NO tornado on screen, because Yasuo was in the air in that duration after being knocked up by Galio's E. Ornn was NOT interrupted. His E just didn't go off properly.

Ulti didn't go completely null. You clearly see over Yasuo's head that it says Airborne.

Okay, so upon closer inspection again I can see it's probably just a visual bug with the ulti, because Yasuo was indeed ""rooted"" when it rammed through him, so he was probably indeed knocked up just that the animation didn't properly show.

But I still stand by the point I made in E.

I was referrecing the moment at 17 sec, where Ornn is actually on a course to hit the turret. At 7 sec, he misses it. You see an indicator when he's going to hit terrain, and at the 7 sec mark there is no indicator. That is a misplay.

At 17 sec, when Ornn is about to hit the terrain, he is instead hit by Yasuo's tornado.

This is an outplay.

Yeah, tell that to the Ornn model that partially clipped through the turret remains.

I never argued against anything at 17sec to begin with.

RenownedWheat422 votes

He didn't hit the turret. There was no indicator. He misplayed. It's not a bug.

At 17 sec it's the same thing, except a) Ornn actually aimed it properly, and b) Yasuo interrupted it.

The entire clip is Ornn's team playing poorly and the Yasuo outplaying them.

It's almost like the entire deal of bug is that things aren't working properly. I don't find the kind of reasoning of "it didn't happen here therefore it shouldn't happen" to be adequate.

But agree to disagree.

Azadethe1 votes

The first E was to hit terrain. I was just trying to get into the fight because I didn't have a proper angle for a knockup ( he was too far behind the turret)

Azadethe1 votes

He did outplay Anivia and Galio. He'd been doing it entire game. He spent most of the game top and bot, yet somehow Anivia lost lane, never left lane, and actually in 2v1's vs Yas, was actually arguing.... "I was tanking Yas because I have Egg"

I've watched the ult part of this clip about 80 times, and the second ult hit does hit him (or at least is its hitbox). This is proven by the fact he BRITTLED as soon as the ult passed through him. (I just rewatched it and my W didn't activate any brittle. It's the Ult that procced it, yet no knockup; that's why the brittle expired when I was auto attacking him)

Stars Shaper1 votes

The E thing is surely a bug. I'm not sure however about the Ult thing. Considering that there was a lot of things happening , the Ult could have been dodged (which looks like it form the visuals) and Maw shield could have been proced by another source of damage (does Scorch proc it?).

BladeSteel1 votes

He has a Brittle mark after the ult was "dodged"

Stars Shaper1 votes

Niice catch, I missed it.

Melledoneus1 votes

Actually, as a Shen player I have run into that specific bug with Yasuo E.

If you try to CC him during his E's duration it's completely negated. I don't know why, but I distinctly remember this happening as I straight up passed through him with a taunt as he dashed through me.

I hope this gets looked at.

RenownedWheat421 votes

That issue is certainly one that exists and I'd experienced it when I was a Maokai spammer, but at no point does it occur in this clip.

RenownedWheat422 votes

He also gets knocked up by the ult. Watch the video again and you'll see where it says he's airborne.

Leaf on Bush1 votes

He is marked as airborn when the second part of Ornn ult hits him, but his dash doesn't get interrupted, only pops what looks like nullifying orb... or hexdrinker (possibly a bugged interaction with these effects)? He also doesn't get visibly knocked up in the air. He then proceeds to do antoher dash while still being marked as airborn.

Has to be a bug, it obviously is one, so just make a bug report and don't use titles like "Ornn can't even fight Yasuo anymore?" in freaking gameplay... just say that you found a bug, drama queen.
