What's the proper MIA protocol

When my laner dies or backs what is the protocol for pinging him MIA? Up until now I've always pinged MIA about 10 seconds after they revive or have backed but is it up to me to continue to ping the longer he is MIA or have I given sufficient notice to my laners to keep an eye out?

Ok for starters, if your laners get ganked, it is kinda their fault.

They were probably really pushed, and theres nothing you can do if the enemy mid laner backs and walks to bot from base.

Never expect your team to call MIA, always look at the map for whose missing.

Acoording to me MIA is a previlage not a right, if someone calls MIA, and I wasn't paying attention, good for me. If they don't call it and I die, my bad.

As much as I like solid rules that I can set up and follow in everything I do, games like this don't work well with absolutes.

You have to rely on your instincts, and when your instincts fail you you're going to have to train them to be better. See what feels right for you and follow that. If your laner likes moving outside of lane during the lane phase ping more often. If they reliably leave lane only to buy and come right back wait a bit, or even don't ping at all. There are a ton of variables, so in my opinion trusting your instincts, and correcting your instincts when they are wrong, is the right answer.

They key is to ping every second they are unseen.

I.E. Say your Mid. Laner disappears and you don't know at all where he went. Do the Triple Ping. 1 Near Top Side River Brush, 1 Near Bottom Side River Brush, 1 in the middle of lane.

Then we get fancy. If we reasonably notice our laner moving out of the Mid Lane, we ping ? ? ? ? (4x) in the last known direction the MIA enemy was missing. This gives valid warning to your Top or Bottom Lanes that Enemy X Mid Laner was moving X direction.

If we get really fancy, we ping based on move speed. Has Boots? ? ? ? ? ? Rapid succession up/down river.

This is what I do. GL.

Edit : As another rule of thumb, if it's Aurelion Sol in your Mid Lane, you just tell your team from Champ Select.. "Look fam, this fool fenna roam and I don't know if Ill keep up with it. ASOL IS ON THE MAP! PAY ATTENTION RITOPLS"

You know that's another thing.

If anyone EVER does not follow their laner.. Omfg I will tilt all on that face

You ping it all over your allies whenever things don't go your way. Your allies are your man servants and they are to do your bidding at every moment of the game. Failure to do so on their part and you are free to berate, insult, and degrade them.

And after you've received a number of unjust reports against you for supposed inappropriate behavior that results in an unfair punishment, you post your grievances in the Player Behavior and Moderation forum.

Satire aside, I ping after every attack against an enemy minion or structure if I am laning.
