What are important skills to work on as I work closer to Diamond?

I don't want to spend as much time in Diamond as I have in plat, what key skills should I focus on that are neglected by plat players

Being consistent even if you have to be meta slave. Don't be like me who loses divisions worth of lp by playing 30 games on Urgot trying to make it work then realising that he is just bad, when I could just be spamming nasus whenever he is open in easy lane match ups for basically free lp.

Play whoever you're good at and whoever you have fun with. If you want to win, you're going to have to put it into your own hands. Don't let others tell you who to play. You're not going to be able to play very well if you force yourself to play Meta champs. Why? Because you're not going to have fun.

Down here in Plat V, I see so many sad saps on their Smurfs trying to enforce the Meta onto their team because they're desperate to win and reach that sweet, sweet virtual rank in a matter of hours. What happens is that they end up losing most of the time and giving up because they don't enjoy playing the game at all.
