Early game support damage has become ridiculous
Trading has devolved into both supports chunking each other's ADC for 30%-50% of their health until they're forced to leave the lane.
This is retarded, and there's no way anyone play tested this.

Remember when everyone cried over Ardent Censer? I kinda predicted it will come to this back then... (Have a PBE account and played the preseason changes even back then)
Get your butt cheeks ready for mage "supports" meta coming back in full swing, all because the difference between the loss of ~7 Magic Pen and 12 MR is not something to scoff away so easily, and the new runes are really crazy on some mage "supports"... (Arcane Comet Brand/Zyra chunking you for 70% of your HP on lvl 2 xD Fun Gameplay)
proof?
Literally play against sona Nami and bard bot once
Or play the game and figure it out for yourself
Then again u play brand mid and usually support brand so u wouldn’t want ur champ to get nerfed for being able to 1v1 most adcs early game as a support :)
i do that as taric but in just about all portions of the game
In preseason, you are the one testing it.
I’m watching YouTube clips of a Janna doing 200 damage with a w building only support items and such but because no resistances every single support now deals damage.
Even soraka deals ok damage for her champ
Lulu sona nami and bard have now become aggro supports poking the adc everytime they try to cs for a decent chunk of their hp
Doesn’t excuse bot from behind broken too but ya know, FUCK bot lane In general and the balance team that refuses to nerf it
I have support bards roaming top 8 minutes in missing their q but auto attacking me for 250 damage and can even half chunk me if I don’t have flash
Support main btw!!! Good at the game btw !!!
Don't forget mage "supports" who can do it with much less risk and much more range.
Or tank "supports" who can just throw their long-range engage and be the ones chunking things down.
They, too, can "support", don't forget them!
First, where did my comment go, second since you're top shouldn't you be able to withstand some support AAs?
Besides, most supports build AP still; I don't know what you're playing where a Bard builds AD.
Now like my other comment said, as a support main, I love having this ability as it gives me things to do while my ADC farms besides just sit around and wait for their ADC to try to harm my charge.
Soraka deals almost no damage unless she's good; her Q is really hard to land if you aren't good and the ADC is decent and not CC'd, and still doesn't even do much damage without significant AP. Her bananas? Like I said, why is a support building AD?
Nami's range is just straight broken; I can understand your fears there.
Have you ever seen Karma's damage as support? Still chunked ADCs before preseason. I believe Lulu was the same way.
Bard also has an excuse to roam; his whole chime thing, which more often than not actually hurts his team if he's roaming at 8 minutes.
I don't know why you're so upset about the resistance thing. Most armor was buffed to offset the lack of runes, and honestly, what are supports supposed to build besides, you know, their main damage source, AP?
Oh, right, AD... I still haven't seen many AD supports that aren't trolling.
In addition, it still takes quite a lot of work to get a kill with a support unless somehow you got really fed or your enemies were feeding; they typically just don't have the burst/consistent damage.
Bot lane, in general, seems a pretty bad idea. This meta, the support usually has to carry the ADC pretty hard until they can do enough damage to stay alive. I still think it's a bad idea, but where else are marksman supposed to go?
If this AD support thing is legit, that means the support role needs to be reworked because they clearly aren't doing their job. Supports are built for protection and to repel enemies.
Man, I wish duo top was a thing again.

Meanwhile Sona's Q, with the same **effective **range as Janna's W, at max rank (rank 5) can barely break 100 damage after base magic resistance. While Jannas, Bards, Namis, Lulus and yes, even Sorakas are doing damage thanks to the loss of magic resist runes, Sona has less damage potential than all of these, but she's the only one repeatedly taking baseball bats to the knees because of buying Spellblade into Echo to use as crutches for her broken knees.
News flash: breaking the knees of somebody using crutches doesn't in any way hinder them from continuing to use said crutches.
I'm pretty sure that at this point it's become damn easy to see that there is no way around Sona's issues other than a full-scale kit rework... But for whatever reason that's beyond me Riot adamantly refuses to acknowledge this and continues their trend of letting her become oppressive with new things (Spellblade, Echo and now even the new runes gave her Aery+Scorch) before nerfing her down to unreasonable levels...
Just have a look at the current PBE nerf Q mana cost up by 15 (!) on EVERY rank and base bonus magic damage cut IN HALF with a 10% AP ration increase in compensation... What does this mean? -> Her early game is even more CRAP (As if it weren't already, especially with Leonas, Blitzes, Alistars and other early aggression supports running around with Aftershock) and her Ult passive makes even less sense now, since it's supposed to enable her spamy nature come mid-late game but the absurd mana costs for a low impact of her QWE casts contradict that...
TL;DR - Nerfing Sona because she abuses Spellblade+Echo artificial number cheesing DOESN'T fix anything, in fact it does exactly the opposite, creating a even bigger reliance for her to abuse said cheese strat to succeed while leaving her extremely underwhelming when NOT abusing Spellblade+Echo cheese...
I agree completely, my thoughts exactly.
The problem is, she's already had 2 failed complete reworks from 2 separate Rito employees that both admitted they had no idea what they were doing. Fearless is a bronze 2, jungle Udyr main, who admitted to never playing Sona. RicklessAbandon I know even less about, but from what I can tell decidedly stopped playing this game long ago, but still works for Rito on game design? Wtf?
Sona will never get a proper rework if Rito continues assigning employees that have no understanding of League as a game, let alone of Sona as a character in said game, specifically. Myself and a few others would like to see CertainlyT take up the Sona mantle and show what he can do for the champ.
However, reworks take a long time to create, from conception, to design, then testing and finally showcasing on PBE (let's face fact, that's all PBE is now.) Which could take half a year or more. If Rito wanted to fix the problem NOW, they would revert her back to her original pre-4.13 kit. As a temporary fix mind you. Rito knows as well as you and I that she was actually balanceable back then, unlike the hot mess she's been left as.
Wow, forbid that support, a role designed for early-game laning strength, actually be strong early-game and in lane. I get that MR runes aren't a thing anymore, but ADC rarely took more than +5 anyways. Maybe if every sheeple and their mother stops going Longsword +0 potions, double-dipping into 2 separate damage masteries and would actually start a Doran's Item + potion and take Resolve secondary, sheeple will stop being poked out of lane.
Second Wind is a powerful mastery, it'll let you live through far more situations than you would believe. Meanwhile Doran's Blade's lifesteal is always useful or even Shield for another Second Wind passive. Then take the MR mastery or the Tenacity mastery, your pick.
