This is not a rant about how broken he is or anything, I'm genuinely asking. I recently picked up jungle since I was an Ekko mid one trick and turns out the tier lists are right when they say he's really good in the jungle, so I've just been spamming him in ranked and I'm doing really well.
I only have one real problem though, and that's Olaf. I don't think I've won a game against him as Ekko jungle and I'm really just looking for better ways to beat him other than perma banning him (since I would much rather ban Mordekaiser). Pre 6 he beats me just with the insane amount of lifesteal and attack speed he gets. Maybe if I land my stun I can burst him and kite him with my passive, but I don't have much damage until lich bane. And after 6, my stun and Q slows are useless on him and he just runs me down, and my R doesn't help me much with this. Does anyone have any suggestions?
you need ignite to beat him.
if your ult, and E and Q both ways, one hit of W passive and 3-proc passive don't kill him then you lose, he will outsustain you.
now usually if you were lane ekko you would have an ignite, but you aren't lane ekko you're jungle ekko so you're gonna have to take a red smite and be willing to kite the olaf cause you aren't gonna get him in one rotation (you know this if you've played top lane ekko), you can get creative with the kiting.
if you don't want to take red smite then you will simply have to use your E over walls to get away from him, you can be real cheesy with it and bait out his ult if you want and just 'peace' over a wall.
if he flashes then you ulti, won trade.
getting grievous wounds won't actually help once he get's spirit visage cause you won't have enough cdr to rotate on him again.
getting the cdr won't help enough cause you won't have the grievous wounds to stop him healing.
armor will just make you live longer, which makes olaf live longer.
this is ofc assuming all things are equal between the pair of you.
if you're ahead then you're ahead, shit plays itself from there i assume.
your best bet of getting ahead is early ofc, pre-6 cause your cc still counts for something.
yes you can beat him post-6 if he has no ult but he would have to throw an axe to a bad spot or have been dumpstered (3 lvl diff or 1 item diff)
W placement is everything, chief among all you must get the shield, do not bank on the stun, he won't get stunned.
you can try saving your spell dmg for after he's ulted but you best be fed to be doing that.
