I'm Tired of Pretending Nasus Isn't OP

Nasus Is honestly broken as hell. I'm tired of pretending he isn't OP just because not many people use him in high elo. The fact that you can gain free damage off of doing something as simple as farming and still build full tank is just stupid. And people who say "his early game is horrid" Let me remind you that simply ganking and giving him a lead can ruin your lane because he will have above average stacks. His W makes it impossible to kite unless you're Vayne and the fact that he can just 1shot an ADC and still be able to come out alive due to having 400 armor and 3.5k health is insane, and don't even get me started on his retarded ultimate that allows him to 2v1 and he can already tank like a truck but no he needs a steroid that boosts him even more to ruin you.

my rant

His early game is average, he spikes midgame but is completely irrelevant lategame in anything that isn't a splitpush scenario. He even loses to any proper lategame duelist and against any champion that can kite him or has qss.

If you're having trouble against nasus you probably should improve your laning phase before posting rants without any reasoning.

P.s: don't mention Quas and his Nasus build, he makes all champs look busted

Mannny1 votes

I was referring to Quas as being a consistant Nasus player in challanger for the idiot that thought nobody plays Nasus in high elo. And I know how to lane against Nasus for your information, but in low elo leads pop up all the time and imo if nasus gets a small lead he just dominates the lane.

Gimli the Dwarf3 votes

I can tell you from my personal experience that NOBODY plays nasus in high elo because he doesn't offer anything relevant. Quas doesn't play the style of nasus that you encounter in your games, he maxes E to have pressure early game and doesn't get more than 200 stacks by 20 minutes.

And your most played champion is gnar, he shouldn't even be able to come close to you if you have ANY idea of how your champ works

Mannny1 votes

I've been done with gnar for awhile because my team doesn't engage with me when I have mega up so it's a tradeoff of lane winning for teamfights.

I just lock in Darius and I'm usually fine but if I can't counter him he just ends up being a huge issue.

He's so fucking broken OP. That's why there are like 0 Nasus players Diamond 1 and above. Literally zero. Not a single one.

Mannny1 votes

D1 is still high elo. And just because nobody at challanger plays him (Quas) doesn't mean he isnt OP.

Ambient Snow4 votes

NO,

The reason is simple that he isn't op.. People at higher elo's know better then to just leave him alone and let him farm for free for half the match cause you get over confident.

Mannny1 votes

You're basing all your knowledge on high elo, high elo isn't always right. In high elo things like Ryze are very strong and in lowr elos Ryze isn't even an issue. If you let him farm then yes he will be a monster but if he get's a lead it's most likely gg for my lane because I will NEVER be able to fight him alone or even a 2v1.

VentureFox2 votes

While there are some players that play him in high elo it's rare. And yes the fact that a champion isn't seen in high elo play or competitive play is a very strong indicator that he isn't OP. What it means is that in these level of play, i.e. the best of the best, Nasus isn't viable. The reason he isn't viable is that he is very easy to shut down in the early game, or delay his late game to the point where the match is too short for him to hit his power spike. And if something is really and truly op the pros and high elo players are going to abuse it. The part of the reason people are high elo is the fact that they follow the meta closely, watching out for what's broken so they can either use it or counter it. Nasus is far from OP. There are plenty of champion that provide an ample counter to him. Just research the best way to handle him and git gud.

Mannny1 votes

Darius, Pantheon, hell even Vayne top can counter Nasus. People don't understand what I am trying to say in this post. He may not be OP in high elo because people watch closely on how to avoid his power spikes but in the lower elos he is just too strong. If he gets the smallest lead he will dominate that lane.

VentureFox2 votes

The champion is balanced. People at low elos just suck at managing him. Does this mean we should nerf Annie because people don't know who to counter her. How about Akali (who's under powered right now) because the depth of bronze can't deal with her. Player incompetence doesn't not equal a balance issue. It's just a matter of gitting gud.

SaltyKracka1 votes

Funny you should mention that. Annie is and pretty much always has been strong in the midlane, at every ELO.

VentureFox2 votes

Strong yes, OP nah. Just because she's strong doesn't mean she's unfair.

Mannny1 votes

Nasus, again, requires the TEAM to deal with him. If he has a lead because my 0/8 top lane shen lost lane to him I'm not going to attempt to fight him and neither will he.

SaltyKracka2 votes

Is that any different with any top laner?

VentureFox3 votes

Anyone who is that fed requires a team effort. What you're failing to prove is that Nasus on his own is inherently unfair, that he somehow lacks counter play, or that stat wise he is too strong. There is plenty of counter play as you have given examples of in other posts. Just because players at low elo are incompetent doesn't mean that Nasus is in any way overpowered, unfair, or lacking in counter play.

Mannny1 votes

He isn't op in higher elo but when my teammates or the enemy teams nasus gets a lead it usually snowballs 100% into that lane being. But I suppose you are correct that most champions are like that but i see this certain trend of leads snowballing out of control with Nasus Darius Pantheon Fizz Leblanc Kat and many others...

Vizulix2 votes

I am a Nasus main. He is most definitely not over powered in low elo. The thing is, to become useful enough to carry the Nasus has to farm for the first twenty or so minutes of the game. Due to the snowbally meta this season has, the game is usually already decided by then. I have gone upwards of 1000 stacks and lost simply because the enemy team was too fed. So to answer your question Nasus is not OP.

I'm tired of pretending people like you know what they're talking about.

"Nasus is op cuz he gets free damage the more he farms!" -> With lethality average game lenght is so short that he doesn't get to farm enough

Ambient Snow2 votes

Your right NASUS is OP!

(WAIT hold that down vote)

NASUS is only op When your person vs him in the lane, Sucks.

Nasus can be shut down pretty easily The issue with Nasus is poor game play that makes him OP.

Simply put, Many times I see people shutdown a nasus. Then just leave the nasus alone to free farm, 10 minutes later from free farming lanes. NAsus now has 300+ stacks. and can now one shot members of your team because you just left him alone cause you thought he was shut down.

This happens in SOOOO many games its amusing.

Mannny1 votes

So what you are saying is shut him down and it's easy and if you let him farm he will get stacks. But what if you are forced to pick first and you get countered by this Nasus, or their jungle camps you and you are forced to play safe? News flash, Junglers and mid laners can enable Nasus to free farm, not just the opposing team. If I am getting camped (Which I do camp my nasus if he's on my team) they do it for the purpose of allowing nasus to free farm his lane and become dominant. Lots of champions can get leads but if Nasus gets even the smallest lead it's usually transacted into him getting above average stack which leads to you not being able to fight him anymore which leads to you losing your lane ect.

WitchQueen Annie1 votes

I mean, he kind of is in many situations.

I played a random game with him a few weeks ago (rarely ever touch this champ), got crushed in the lane by a Garen (like several deaths in under 10 minutes). It got to late game, didn't matter because I have stacks.

He literally 1 shots people with his Q while building full tank. And the slow duration on his W is ridiculous.

Also, a lot of champions simply don't have the damage needed to stop him from scaling 1 vs 1. Kind of dumb how you have to rely on JG help to help in what is supposed to be mostly a 1 vs 1 lane.
