Rofl my 2 item Ahri is unable to damage 2 item Maokai

Luden's + Morello vs. Sunfire + Spirit Visage. I literally cannot damage him. He's whacking at my inhibitor and eating Q + W + E, then completely healing over it.

How is this okay?

So... You are using a champ that doesn't work well against tanks (ahri) against a tank that itemized against you.

I think the first problem here is in your build, then in your champion choice. Then in your focus. Ahri is supposed to burst the squishies Mao is supposed to protect.

Maokai He protect, he respect, but more importantly.. he builds item 3065 .

Either item 3151 or item 3135 would have worked better than Luden's.

More likely:

2 items with rather high HP.
1 item with high MR, HP regen and heal amplification.

OP went for a build good against squishy 0 MR characters and whines about a tanky dude with lots of sustain to be able to resist a single combo from him.

I mean I didn't see the game. But he shouldn't literally do 0 damage. Sure Ahri shouldn't kill him in a single rotation, but it the Mao is not threatened at all, that is a problem imo.

Of course, when someone else builds tank, I can never kill them. When I build tank, I still get bursted down in 5 seconds. So I just have no clue what a tank really is.

The OP provided too little information about "I couldn't damage him" and I am sure about some sort of exaggeration in there plus we don't know if Mao could attack things and regain a real heavy bunch of HP via his passive and Spirit Visage.

And once again, OP didn't have even an item to help himself against Maokai.

As others have said, he built MR to counter your, and SV makes his healing even stronger, when you apparently don't have any magic penetration, or at least not %magic pen. Add to that the fact that Maokai can heal more often against casters, because each time he's hit with a spell or casts one of his own, his passive CD gets reduced.
