I dont understand why people dislike Zed so much

He probably has the most fair burst pattern out of all the assassins. Seriously.

Akali just point and clicks you to death

Fizz bursts you from untargetability

Talon drops his full combo in like half a second. Also insanely strong at level 2

Khazix also blows his load in a second

Katarina can also burst you in well under a second with instant blinks

Then you have Zed whose burst gives you a 0.75 second warning that he's now going to attempt to burst you and another 3 full seconds before it pops.

I really dont understand why out of all the assassins, Zed is disliked the least. His burst gives you sooooo much time to react with flash, shields, zhonyas, exhaust, peel, etc

I mean even compare him to a lot of burst mages

Annie R + W + Q + Thunderlords = dead

Syndra miss all skill shots, press R and kill you from 50% HP

Lux You can dodge the first ten 1175 range snares. Get hit by the 11th and deleted from 1k+ range

Veigar it appears to be 30 minutes into the game. Q + R = dead

And those guys all have massive range on their damage and drop their combos much faster than Zed

Can anyone explain to me why Zed is so disliked? He gives you just under 4 whole seconds to react to his burst. I don't understand why he is disliked more than a lot of others

I hate him cuz I cant dodge skill shots in lane and don't know how to abuse a 22 second cooldown. My reason might be kinda silly but its just me haha btw.

We might as well turn League into a game of dodgeball where melee characters are crap and everything ranged or has a mid or long-ranged skillshot is overpowered so that you don't have think about the idea of some melee champion getting too close to you.

This is the dumbest post I think I've ever seen, like ever. His ult doesn't do the damage - the combination of his ult, shuriken and well positioned E is what does the damage along with hitting every possible skillshot posible. I mean I don't know what I'm expecting from a fuckin Fizz main, lmao.

His laning, akali is at least kinda weak in lane, kata needs items to start snownalling, fizz and talon have mana. Zed has a great long range AoE tools to farm and harass, kinda like a low tier mage, until he gets his ult where he becomes an assassin.

l m a o zed is pure trash until he hits 6. If you get killed by him before that your positioning is terrible and you get below 50% health and get yourself flash AAE ignite cheesed. Not hard to avoid. Every single mage in the game bullies him heavily and pushes him into the turret. Even if he can farm decently under tower he has pressure and can't roam, he takes damage from minions, his tower and he loses energy which he would otherwise use to harass you.

At max rank, it is 14 second cool down. You really think they will keep it at level 1 during laning phase? With all that harass, poking, and zoning potential from a single W in combination of Q? If I was playing Zed, I'd prioritize Q and W.

Anyway, his Q in combination of his W and R is kinda what he was talking about.

If you are a new player, you don't expect a lot of it.

If you are not a new player, you expect to have to be able to dodge every 6 seconds or less. And it isn't just 1 thing they have to dodge every time.

He also has a slow built into a 3 second cool down skill.

And you wonder why people don't like dealing with him?

Forget his laning phase. If it was just his laning phase that was the problem, less people would whine because not everyone plays mid.

I think zed's burst is fair, what i dislike about him personally is his safety/slipperyness with his shadows.

I'll agree with you on the first part. The second part is questionable though. Even with 40% CDR, 8.4 secs on his W's cooldown is still relatively long if you ask me.

The problem, largely, is that there is no reacting to his burst. Just like Fizz, there is little you can do short of Zhonya's to counterplay Zed's Ult if he has any chance to kill you at all. Untargetable Chase that puts you down on top of the player with a free escape on top of his already pre-existent shadow.

People hate Zed because he vanishes into thin air. He contains large bits of what makes both Fizz and LeBlanc so hated independantly and wraps it into one package full of Zed that no one really enjoys playing against.

Yeah, but while they do, you can fight back. You can do something other than get hit 3 times, watch Zed vanish into thin air, and die when the mark expires.

Zed rewards players for bad choices with infinite escapes and a lack of punishability that none of the champions you listed posess. If you get to any of them, they die. If you get to Zed, poof...he's gone.

How do you fight back against Annie's burst and how is it somehow easier to do than just aiming hard cc behind you? I honestly want to know.

Also, Khaz, Fizz, and Akali have escapes too. You're not being objective.

Aim a hard CC in front of you when she walks forward with 4 stacks? Unless she flash-smashes you, which takes actual skill, Annie won't become untargetable and then disappear. She has to commit to that fight. Even if all else fails, and she can't burst you down...Annie becomes a tasty treat. She won't vanish into thin air.

Takes more skill to plan an use than pressing R, waiting a half second, and pressing R again. Flashing over a wall takes a lot more skill than WWing over a wall with Zed due to the massive range difference.

You know, TF used to have an instant global flash ultimate that people bitched about too. People hate Zed because he takes almost no skill, has little counterplay, can't be punished for his mistakes, and has greater access to cheese escapes than any other champ in league not named Lee Sin. Winning with Zed has never felt good to me as a player, and losing against a Zed almost never feels like anything other than garbage games. If I wanted to play a fighting game against teleporting crackheads, I'd play Dragonball Z. At least then everyone could teleport around the same.

That's right. No skill.

Even a person that can't press Y to control their own camera can get kills on Zed, and escape cleanly. Any champion that can vanish into thin air can not be called "skill based", because they all break the fourth wall.

I have played him. I have solo-killed friends I otherwise can't as a Support Main, with relative ease, because of his cheesy escapes and unprecidable game mechanics. I have R'd onto someone fleeing for their life and hit them twice, vanishing into the nothing with no punishment even from their tower, killing them after a short and sad wait.

It's not hard to do it. There are no real ways to play around it aside from winning lanes and just suriviving it long enough to kill it.

If that's your best response, why are you wasting my time? You know how strong he is. You know what he does, and how disruptive he is to pretty much every other champion that exists. 80% of the champion pool has no really way to combat him, in any way. The other 20 have to really beat him to do it.

He's to easy once you understand how to use him. There is no real way to punish him short of being predicted. Unless you're dull, that's easy to keep up long enough for Zed to just outright kill you with no counterplay.

It's not a one time thing. It's something I'll still do as a method of testing other characters with them. Mechanically, Zed is no more difficult than Morgana. If you say otherwise, you're only lying to yourself. Thresh gives me more trouble mechanically for about one-third of the killing power.

Wether or not I can beat you with him is irrelevant. I can beat people I otherwise shouldn't with him. In my notebook, he's #2 behind LeBlanc on the "Cheese Factor" list, and will stay there until Kayn is released to challenge him.

Fun fact.

Q is delayed, therefore not fast enough of skill activation to be a burst skill. W isn't even a burst nor close to one. E is DoT, so can't be burst by nature of the skill. R is DoT, so can't be burst by nature of the skill.

Also, by your logic, ADC's are burst.
