Muramana on Ryze is legit
Since Ryze has been so weak lately, some Ryze mains decided to find a new build to try to get Ryze good again. They discovered the Muramana build, which is something Ryze used to take, back before his first rework. You might think that Muramana is a really shitty item to take on a full AP mage, like Ryze. We're still building AP, so the AD on the item seems useless. Seraph's is also really good on Ryze, so taking Muramana would stop you from taking Seraph's, right?
Let's look at Muramana, more specifically, it's passive Shock. What this passive does, is give each of your basic attacks AND SPELLS bonus physical damage based on 6% of your current mana. You know what stat Ryze likes to build? Mana. With 3 items, you'd likely have about 3000 mana. This would give you about 100 bonus damage on each spell (give or take depending on your current mana pool). You literally bought an item that gives you 100 free damage on each of your spells, on a champion that shits out spells like no tomorrow. That's the equivalent of buying an item that just gave you 200 AP on Ryze. But that's not all. Late game, when you have full build, you'll likely have about 5000 mana. that's 300 BONUS PHYSICAL DAMAGE ON EVERY SPELL FOR A SPELL SPAMMING MAGE.
Now of course, there are some downsides. Despite Muramana being really good, you have to stack tear first, because Manamune is really shitty on Ryze. And you really can't buy AA because if you stack it up and then buy Manamune, the AA will get all the stacks and the Manamune will reset at 0. So usually the best strategy for this build is to simply get tear and buy other items, like ROA, Zhonyas, Morellos, components for AA (we still get AA this build). Then, when you're tear is stacked fully, you upgrade it to Muramana. The other option wastes gold but gets faster stacks. Basically, we get AA and stack it up to 748, or as high as you can get it. Make sure that you do not upgrade it to Seraphs. We do this, because AA gives us better stats early on, and because it stacks faster than just a tear, or a Manamune. Once you are at base with your stacks, buy another tear, sell AA, then buy Manamune and begin to buy AA again. We don't get Manamune first because AA will upgrade first instead of Manamune, which is why its critical that we sell AA and rebuy it. AA will reset it's stacks, but that doesn't matter much because even without stacks the item is still beneficial, and it stacks fast especially late game.
TL;DR
is not troll on Ryze, it's pretty damn good. If you're a Ryze player, try this build but make sure to get Muramana before AA because AA will override Muramana.
's R triggers shocks passive per ball hit.
x5. The Muramana passive adds a little under 600 ish physical damage to his rotation (so over 600 added damage with 1 auto weaved in.) about 170 ish damage a cast so weave an auto or two in and you do see some benefits from the muramana but the same build with Seraphs is gonna provide 233 Ap. His base rotation is 1.35 Ap scaling so that's 314.55 Magic damge for his rotation. Course his empowered Q shield is a good deal higher and at max Mp the activated is worth 1300 ish shield for 2 seconds.
would likely be annoying for a lot of champions, especially with that point and click snare.
already lacks mobility. Leaving out boots is not going to help.
