Caitlyn vs Vayne

Caitlyn no longer counters Vayne. I learned this the hard way yesterday after she hit level 6.

Cait is one of my mains, and has been my bread-and-butter for dealing with "duelists" like Vayne because the only way to beat a short-range one-shot machine is to play a long-range two-shot machine.

No more. Even with attack speed items and landing my E, Vayne was still able to tumble every second in order to be untargetable and just screw me hard. Using E as an escape only delays your inevitable demise as she will just Q after you and then condemn. She was able to 1v2 me and a Fizz consistently. With the removal of pink wards, Caitlyn can't beat Vayne anymore post-6, which basically removes my ability to bully Vayne during her "bad early game" that excuses her god play late game. And Vayne jungle is a thing now.

How is this OK?

I have 920k on caitlyn and im in Plat 2 as we speak.

Caitlyn beats the hell out of vayne for the first 6-8 minutes. After that Cait cannot do anything to vayne.

That's what I'm saying. Vayne's primary counter doesn't counter her anymore. Vayne always had a lackluster first 10 minutes against most marksmen with range or mobility, but Cait was able to keep her in check back when we were still able to see Vayne. They removed Cait's dominance over Batgirl when they removed pink wards.

I've started playing Jinx into Vayne because her chompers are more effective for GTFO situations than Cait traps.

I agree with you 100%. Another thing to note is if we're being honest Caitlyn loses every 1v1 heads up. Caitlyn will usually win a trade if they dont get netted ( which is hard for caitlyn to miss imo )

I've had games where i stopped poking Vayne because ive taken more minion damage while vaynes warlord ( or nami janna sona soraka whatever ) just sustain the bitch back up.

ive had games where a 0-5 Vayne fucked me up as a 4-0 caitlyn even when i had a literal b.f sword on her and she didnt condemn me.

Shes just freaking dumb right now.

Youre not supposed to win a 1v1 with Vayne. Youre supposed to harass her so shes never at high enough hp to all in you. When she comes back to lane just ult her. Spam traps everywhere. Q her when she goes in to cs. If shes not at permanent half hp youre not playing Caitlyn properly.

Imo, a big problem is that if you don't get full damage on her, catch her in traps, ect, then you pretty much auto lose a fight with her. Cait is bursty, but if you can't pretty much one shot the Vayne then she'll just destroy you. She just has way more dps.

And that's the problem. Because Cait used to be THE counter to Vayne back when there was still a way to counter R+Q.

for me, ususally cait is dps and vayne is the assassin dps burst champ able to kill anyone in lane with her ult and two items.

idk but i do agree that cait is no longer a counter to vayne anymore. those q buffs man

Vayne isn't bursty, it's just that she does so much dps that she feels bursty, when in reality, she's always doing that much damage. Lol. She literally has no damage from anything other than her autos.

Yeah, Caitlyn's Burst is retarded. A fed Cait can one shot most champs if they wander into a trap. Bush camp with a trap at the very edge, someone facechecks your, headshot proc crit, E, headshot crit, Q w/ bonus, first-hit damage, dead. It's really ridiculous. Lol. She can just get so much bonus damage from a lot of things.

If you're playing the lane properly as Caitlyn, Vayne should never have enough health to go in to try and outplay you. As a Vayne main, Caitlyn is still one of my harder matchups. I absolutely hate that champion. Vayne doesn't outright beat Caitlyn unless she's catching her from a flank off guard. The laning phase is all up to the supports. So, if the Vayne has a better support than you do, and you're not proficient enough to 2v1.5, then you'll end up losing the matchup. Vayne has always outscaled Caitlyn, though. At the same time, they both 2 shot each other anyways, so it doesn't even matter.

A thing that a lot of Caitlyns do to me, is when they get the advantage and they get back to lane, they ulti right away and chunk me down to like 75% health and keep poking me around that time. The ultimate will be back up in short order, and my life will still be pretty low.

I should have clarified this, I suppose. But Vayne jungle is what I've been seeing a bit lately (also Twitch jungle). There is no laning phase for our bot lane to terrorize her with.

Cait is only supposed to counter Vayne early game. Late game Vayne pretty much out does every ADC in the game except for Twitch, Kog'maw and maybe Jhin. Although Vayne is in a problematic spot right now so...ban her or....find ways to play around her. That is all I can say about that until Riot gives her proper adjustments.

Caitlyn is a lane bully, vayne prevails in the mid to late game do to her high mobility and dueling power, but its your job to outsmart her and anticipate her movements, that way you can take some hp out of that bar, forcing her to play very cautiously or you could team up and kill her then.
