Confused about Sylas' ultimate.

A couple games ago I saw the warnings in chat's about him stealing an ultimate and I've been confused since. I'm confused because of the colours of the text in chat. I've thought since that he could steal an ally's ult because of the 2 colours the text showed up in (blue and red), sometimes when he stole an ult the text would be in blue (I thought this meant he stole an ally's ultimate) and sometimes in red (An enemies). But apparantly he can't steal ally's ultimates? Can someone explain the colours?

It's based on which side of the map you're on. One side gets red text and one side gets blue text. Sylas can only steal enemy ultimates, unless he steals from a Sylas that has stolen from an ally.
