Are we seriously going to be forced to sit through an entire three months of positional queues?

I'm already completely sick of losing LP to 'this isn't my main role, I don't care if we lose.'

Except that that's not how it works. When people start to realize your main role can still get demoted for losses in other roles, then that'll stop.

How many games as an off role do you think I have to lose at a whopping rate of -4 LP / loss to demote? You clearly have absolutely no idea what you're talking about

Aside from that, it doesn't matter whether that is or isn't how it works, because that's how everyone is treating the system and it's turning ranked into a cesspool.

"I shall provide you the actual number proving you're right, but you clearly have no idea what you're talking about."

"Aside from that, you saying that it'll be fixed when people realize has no bearing on the current state, even though you didn't imply it did."

This post is so ridiculously stupid that I don't even know how to respond.

At a whopping rate of -4 LP to my main role, it takes 5-6 losses to counter the LP I get from a single win. I get an off role maybe 1/8 games. For every 48 games on my main role, I only have to win 1 more than I lose to offset the LP lost from splash.

Games on my off role have such a small impact on my main role that there's no reason for me to care about their outcome.

Why are you even posting in this thread? You have zero ranked games and have shown that you don't even understand the system. Get out.

I'm only here to get you to understand what you're trying to say.

You just explained why it isn't a problem for the people who don't try when they're in their off-role.

Now, with that in mind, please explain why it is a problem for their allies. All I'm asking is that you actually back up your claims that something is a problem instead of spouting what amounts to, "I don't like change."

It's literally right there in the topic. Ranked is currently full of people in off roles (where off role now includes your secondary role) not trying or flat out trolling, because a loss in anything but their main role has very little impact.

It has nothing to do with 'I don't like change' and everything to do with there being no real incentive to not just throw your off-role games so can get back to climbing on your main role, resulting in everyone doing just that, which fucks over the rest of the team mates who are on their main roles.

There is an incentive, at least to not say, "I don't care about this game." It's a punishable offense.

Was exactly everyone saying before that stuff started. Yet here we are.

Much rather this than last season’s autofill system. At least on this system, players will eventually get to a proper mmr on their autofilled roles. Last season, autofilled players simply did not have the skill to do well and made the game unplayable. Those games were downright terrible to play and much worse than anything we have this season.

Cool, meanwhile they're bringing entire teams of players down while we wait for them to lose a couple dozen games (for each of their non-primary roles) to drop down to an appropriate place.

It only takes a single player going 1-7-1 to completely throw the game for their team. Three S8 Master players on my friends list are currently stuck at Diamond IV with 40-45% win rate because of this. It's not acceptable to bring everyone playing with them down while they drop.

Also, you're not considering that everyone's secondary role is now the same as an off role. There's no incentive to care about winning in it.

It doesn't need to be explicitly said. A Diamond player in an off role doing something stupid like AP Renekton or constantly going AFK for 30 seconds at a time makes it clear they don't care about the outcome of the game, whether or not they say it.

And they would be even worse on the old system because they would never drop. If we revert back to the old system, we go back to the cesspool ranked was last season where every autofilled player was ruining games throughout the entire season.

The system sucks now but that is only because riot didn’t implement role based mmr sooner. It will also suck a lot more on th old system. The old system would keep the autofilled players you see in high mmr where thy don’t belong.

Also, you're not considering that everyone's secondary role is now the same as an off role. There's no incentive to care about winning in it.

And you are not considering how many soft inters there were on the old system even on their main roles. Ranked has always been a cesspool full of people who don’t care or who are completely over their heads. The new system can’t fix all of it but it is at least better.
