I read Taric's rework and I am truly, truly disappointed

Taric is my 3rd most played champion and I usually pick him as a toplaner or ocassionaly jungler. Reading through is rework there are a couple of things that bother me. First, he only has two abilities with damage output. His passive relying on autoattacks and his E 'Dazzle". So basically he is now 100% cemented as a support. I recall RiotRepertoire saying that Taric would remain viable as a sololaner and is some extend jungler. But this is clearly not the case. Secondly they removed the passive that gave armor to all his allies. This was the best thing on Taric and it has been replaced by a W that now only targets 1 ally. He no longer gives armor to his teammates. Third, his ultimate seems quit OP. Invulnerabilities are problematic from a balance perspective. We have already witnessed how Kalista's and Kindreds ult pay off and they are new champions. Yet we get another invulnerability ultimate that really lacks originality. Taric is going to be a healer in lane and a walking ultimate later in the game saving every teammate from burst or whatever. He is going to be superannoying.

So basically I just lost a champion I could play in toplane and jungle to receive a champ who is only a protector and feels like the next Soraka and is ultimate is all he really got about him. I haven't played with him yet but from what I have read this is what comes to my mind.

Taric was my MAIN when he had the auras. His ult was a huge buff in team fights. You could stack WOTA and Zekes to provide a respectable amount of passive healing offset with your passive defense buff, and ability to reliably isolate the biggest threat. He was amazingly useful. Even before the ult which added both AD and AP, helping everyone on your team.

Taric was still pretty damn good with just the big armor bonus... With a good enough bruiser build, you could still contribute a respectable amount of armor to team fights... especially if you had a buddy jungling Rammus or Malphite in the jungle. He was legitimately viable.

Now... Delayed skillshots everywhere. Sorry Taric. You're finally too gay even for me.

(Does anyone know how to take snippets from youtube videos in a way other than this?)

Not sure about top, but from what I've seen on PBE he's fine in the jungle.
