The jungle changes don't accomplish their goal.

The problem is simply because the changes instituted were universal, and not specific towards chamions. They don't want level 3 early ganking and strong jungle influence. So they increase the strength of the jungle monsters, increase their health, lower the buff timers, lower the exp and gold. Less exp means slower leveling, less gold means less items, more health on monsters mean slower clearing and less time on the buffs means less hyper ganking.

Here is the only issue... They are universal.

All junglers have to deal with slower clearing. All junglers have to deal with slower exp gain and less gold. All junglers ended up with less impact. This doesn't increase the viability of other junglers without individual tweaking to go with it as well.

So rather than seeing an increase in jungler diversity, we only saw a shift in terms of whom was viable and a shrinking of the pool. Sustain junglers like Warwick and Fiddlesticks were unaffected. Fiddle could still gank at early level 3 as normal due to his sustain. Warwick hides until level 6 as normal.

Lee sin and Rengar don't gank as early; actually they can if you take a good jungle route and have a good leash. Most tank junglers/assassin junglers got hit hard. Sejuani and Naut? Have fun with that. Eve? Please don't try, its not fun, I should know. Jarvan IV? Its very rough to do.

The other issue is that the new monster buffs aren't a choice, they are an absolute necessity in the jungle. If you aren't starting dual golems or gromp, you're opening yourself up to counter jungling.

For many junglers you do not have a choice in smiting a champion, or smiting a monster, you'll take Ranger's because the sustain is almost non-existent unless its built into your kit. THey have absolutely no choice. Hence why Rengar and Lee Sin remain great, viable options in the new jungle. They can grab a ranger's trail blazer and go right back to Season 4 ganking behavior. Increasing the timer to 60 seconds won't change that because again, its a universal change. Universal change's won't fix specific problems.

So while the new jungle is new and exciting, it didn't address the old problems, it simply shifted the problem about and then created new ones.

Tl;dr: We're still going to see specific buffs/nerfs to junglers. That's the only thing that will alter the viability of many of the champions. Oh and Lee sin is still a dominant force. Not a surprise, and Riot clearly does not share the same conclusion as most of the community regarding his dominance. Back to Pick/banning Lee sin.
