Out of the 25 most popular champions in plat+, only four of them are mages

, with the 5th most popular mage being
, ranked #34.
I find it interesting enough to be pointed out
There are much more mages in the roaster, and yet none of them is being picked all the time (in fact, I added
but she's played 80% of the time as a support.)
And yet, we have the feeling to always face a mage in our games. (lesser pickrate per champion, yet more champions means we still encounter many mages).
To me, this is healthy, as we learn to play against their itemization (which is almost always the same) and we don't have the feeling of any mage being overbearing.
Then we look at botlane... which desperately needs diversity.
are all in the top 6 most played champions btw.
For the record, I'll let you check what is the #rank of the 1st non-support tank champion.
