The overabundance of wasted cdr. I hate wasteing stats.

Eedat3 votes

ah, I forgot about that one. I agree that theyre cramming too much CDR onto everything

Love to see the community opinion on this.

I find it strange and poor design riot went with the direction for cooldown reduction like this. First giving marksmen even more abundant cdr than mages when they didn't need it, then making it easy to stack for everyone while removing mana sustainability. Yeah it's nice to cast your rotation quicker, but when you're useless for half the game waiting on the base to restore mana, it feels like a waste of time; no wonder manaless champions (or ones with low costs, like fiora or fizz) have been popular.

If I wanna play Veigar support, then let me.

Unfortunately riot seems to agree with them a lot of the time. Way too many support nerfs to make them "less picked" as solo laners.

doiminat0r36004 votes

I don't know the last time I saw any of these played as a solo lane: Alistar Braum Janna Leona Nami Soraka Sona Taric Thresh

You can link me to a video but I haven't seen it in any of my games. And if I did, theyd have to pull some serious crazyness in order for me to believe that it works.

Taarki3 votes

I have seen Sona mid do very well. Builds lich bane and goes AP and burst with Q AA combo... Also janna raka sona and thresh get played adc on very rare occasions and no one knows how to counter them so they rek. At least in Silver and below.

I know. Ive done it. won 2 of my 3 games with him. As long as you can pull off one successful play early and dont take any cs, you get the ADCs hopes up about you and they trust you more. then its history

You can cs early if you take relic and swap it out a little later.

Games don't feel satisfying.

I don't know if it's a matchmaking issue (unbalanced teams) or a balance issue (some combination of power creep and unbalanced champions), but it's problematic. Winning doesn't feel good unless the match feels like a fair fight, and things feel less and less fair.

fasega5 votes

Honestly this has made me so sad this season and the sole reason I don't like DQ. Is just sad when I can say I have only had about 10 games this season that have been truly close.

I have only played 3 games this past two weeks after not being able to grind through the unfun experience anymore.

Currently playing overwatch which I do find very fun BUT its never going to be as fun as league use to be before DQ.

Damage creep and mobility creep

ended up voting damage creep

i know i knwo i hate Dynamic Qancer more but since everyone is already voting on that one id voted damage creep since its my second biggest issue

when i play sion and im running along full tank with 7k health and some lame ass yi who apparently cannot be stunned by my ult when he uses q to engage on me when im ulting like wtf rito, Then he kills me in under 2 seconds. Like really 7k in under 2 seconds fuck off man seriously

then yea damage creep is a problem Though mobility creep sucks too but that also has to do with the movespeed on carry items vs the lack there of on bruiser/tank/fighter items and guess what most of these carry's already have the range advantage And having this mobility spells on these ranged champions aswell

Its all cool and all but there is too much mobility on the wrong champions alot of the time and sometimes riot goes complete nuts with the mobility on some champions like ekko

FastAsHeck6 votes

Part of the Damage Creep is also tanks doing too much damage while being too tanky. It just feels lame to be bursted by a full tank Malphite.

bullshit. if malphite is bursting you on a full tank build, then hes stacking large amounts of armor. and hes only able to do that when your team consists of too many ad champions.

malphites damage is quite underwhelming against a mixed teamcomp and on an armor/mr tank build.

the real offenders are adc who are stacking item 3071 item 3035 item 3142 possibly with % health damage in their kits. you see these builds almost every game right now. meaning resistances are worth shit and tanks blow up too fast. meaning theyll build ap bruiser and rely on their ap scalings to blow squishies up instead of trying to tank them (which would be futile).

most tanks are building items like item 3027 item 3001 item 3068 and other damage items mixed into 1 or 2 pure defensive items, just to deal enough damage to the adc to burst him down before he gets bursted by the adc or % damage from other sources. Brand Malzahar item 3147 item 3151

KONO RUBICK DA6 votes

let's be real, tanks may deal a lot of damage by building full tank, but they never one-shot.

TheSingularity14 votes

To be specific, all of the options available plus one more. Above all else.... EVERYONE TRY HARDS..... IN EVERYTHING!

In norms people abuse the most broken champs possible, flame and threaten to report you when you do something different (vel, braum, bard jg) and your opponents continue to kill you at every opportunity just to rub in the fact that "they win and you don't". How good does it feel for top laner X when top laner Y dives and kills you whenever their ult comes off CD until they don't need it anymore. You may say I'm bad, but that's what happens when you go braum top for a lil fun, only to go up against a darius/riven. There's nothing to be done but die, over and over.

Look at rotating game modes. In the beginning, we were all hyped for urf and one for all. We all probably tried stupid/absurd stuff like donger, karthus, naut, rek sai, bard and my god the list goes on, just to have a laugh cos they were still so stupid in theory because the modes were still new and we'd never tried it before. It was awesome, it was fun. Now when urf comes around, it's riven, zed, kat, nid and some other broken pick. And they power down, wreck you and end the game asap. It's not about having a good game anymore for so many people, it's about winning and getting that S rank, or looking good in front of your team. They don't care about seeing dumb stuff happen, they care about making you see a grey screen for as long as possible.

Then one for all; blitz, riven, Darius, Annie ect. Mean while me and my buds picked bard or naut and proceed to get stomped in 10 minutes. Fun right?

It's the same in every featured game mode, people don't value to time they have with it, because it'll be back in a matter of weeks. So they treat it like norms and try and trample everyone in their path.

The cause of all this? Riots changes have made it a stomp or be stomped game. NO ONE WANTS TO BE STOMPED. So they try as hard as possible to be the brats doing the stomping. How often do you see people trying to break the meta? How often do they do a kill lane bot or a themed team composition? I haven't versed any of those in over a year, hell it's probably longer than that, maybe even over 2 years. I've played with some because well, my friends liked doing dumb stuff. (One for all doesn't count as a theme btw) The only people I saw doing off meta stuff, are my buds because they despised abusing FOTM and god tier picks. One mained lulu/raka adc, another ad/ap janna mid+top, another AD elise jungle just for a little picture. And I just filled in where I was needed when I played with them, spamming the random champion button until it auto locked me in. Best times were, when we faced another 5man doing something as dumb as our own. But that was years ago, back when kass reigned supreme and tanks were tanks, fighters were fighters. Not bloody burst mages with 5000 hp, tank assassins or hyper mobile juggernauts.

But now they're gone, they quit because they couldn't play the way they wanted to and enjoy it, because when they did they'd go up against try hards that'd stomp their goofy champion pool beneath their dirty little feet. They'd get salty, and ff at 20 because it was the same dam thing every dam game. We tried aram, but with so many accounts made specifically for aram with only the champions they want, we couldn't escape there either, because we all own nearly every champion, only to get say...... urgot, jhin, sejuani, yorick and singed and go up against a lux, annie, cait, raka and yasuo.

And don't bother telling me "Well it's your own fault for picking those champions", I should be able to pick any champion into any position and expect a reasonable experience. I shouldn't have to drop down to try hard mode just to have a half decent experience where I don't get stomped.

Well that sums me up. [zombie-brand-clap]

  1. Vision needs to be buffed. There needs to be more ways to help supports ward, even if it's just a slight increase. Buff yellow trinket just a little, bring back green wards and put some sort of limit on them. Anything.

  2. Rotation of OP champions/FotM. There's always something dominating the game, and it's always annoying to see them EVERY GAME, be it Azir, Lucian, Kindred, Graves. I'm tired of these champions. There needs to be better balance.

  3. Movement speed on items. I think Luden's has too much movement speed given (10%). It doesn't need to be that high. ADC MS items are fine, but I think it might be good to make the passive unique. Tanks need help finding movement speed.

  4. Penetration needs to be toned down, just a little bit, across the board.

TheSingularity2 votes

Makes it worse because so many supports don't go sightstone anymore. I miss my green wards so much because I bought so many when spirit of the ancient golem was still around with its bonus ward.

Edit: On point 2, I agree, but it needs to be there. If everyone had equal chance of winning. Why would I pick X over Y? Everyone would pick the easiest champion because they'd have as much chance at winning vs a higher skill cap champion. However it has come to a point where champions are certainly too dominant and left alone for far 2 long. If a champion has a broken win rate, ban rate and pick rate (when not banned) there is clearly an issue, and this issue should not take months to fix. Hot fix it, crush the broken FOTM pick then buff them slowly over time until they're just right.

Point 3..... I hate the abundance of movespeed. My move speed quits on naut made me feel special, as this fat behemoth charged into battle. Now I chase people with barely a lead in move speed until they proc my mobility boots, then it's all over -_-

Champion diversity. No matter how much Riot tries with class updates and regular changes we will only ever see 3 or 4 champions played competitively in a single role, and those'll be the most overpowered ones.

DarkSunSovereign9 votes

The prevalence of hybrid (Offensive+Defensive) itemization. Why buy Luden's when you can buy RIlay's, deal about the same damage, but be way tankier? Why get a item 3108 on your first back, when you can get item 1057 into abyssal and win trades with it? Why even have a brain, when you can get item 3155 and auto-win lane?

Champions have such high base damages that there aren't really any drawbacks to going hybrid, which obliterates fully offensive and fully defensive itemization any day.

Getting matched up versus a high plat/diamond player on normals...like pls Rito I'm silver for a reason item 3070 No but seriously, this happens way more than it should.

RoodToob4 votes

As a Plat player who plays with friends in bronze/silver all the time, i find it sucks for those I'm against. I very very rarely pick champs I'm really good at to avoid a complete stomp.

Unfortunately, due to Normal MMR being different from ranked MMR, Theres no real way to fix this

Damage creep is for sure the worst. The new masteries are great and all... But I don't like being one shot.

EDIT: Masteries, not mysteries.

TheSlogs7 votes

The damage creep is what is pissing me off the most. Last season was my favorite season of LoL. I like 50 minute games, but unfortunately that's not agreed upon by most people :/

TheSingularity5 votes

I don't mind 50 minute games, as long as they're engaging. Last season 50 minute games occured way to easily by stalling, nothing happened for 50 minutes, One team stalled, both teams farmed and it was a snooze fest for me. This season it's the opposite, a stomp fest.

As far as game length, season 3 was the best one from memory (as long as kass wasn't there). 50 minutes of head to head clashes, crazy split pushes and constant wars over dragon gold. You could stall, but the enemy could control the map and crush you base bit by bit if you didn't actually have a chance of winning (which was rare). I mained kog back then, with that pretty butterfly skin. I built boots and 5 fckin blood thirsters because fcken YOLO! It was hilarious because it worked, and it was fun making it work. You could still loose games in 15 minutes if you messed up, you could have awesome come backs that didn't revolve around csing for an hour and thus were more engaging. SEASON 3, MY FIRST SEASON, WAS GOD LIKE!

i dont think tanks and tank builds like tank Ekko and tank Fizz should be listed together. People that have issues with tank builds don't necessarily have issues with tanks as a whole, just with champs who shouldn't be building tank items to begin with and abusing the fact they have high damage to make themselves unkillable that way.

Personally, my biggest issue with League right now is how slow champ and class updates are. I know they are going as fast as they can and I don't wish to rush them (knowing all the work that goes into these things), but at the moment they can only get out 2 class updates a year, and these class updates are pretty much being directed at sub-classes as well as primary classes, meaning there are many more classes to go. At this rate, they are going to have to update a previous class before even getting to the rest.

As for champ updates, they are doing much better and it's really helping that they are cutting back on new champs so they can focus on updating older ones, but we still have many champs that are extremely out of date. Right now, we are nowhere near getting to older champs that work fine but need new models and possibly a slightly more up to date kit (Amumu ). Riot needs to figure out ways to get these updates out faster.

A Liberal5 votes

Wtf? Evidently I am the only person who thinks damage creep is a bad issue. I hate how currently its all about damage, damage, and damage. People are bringing medium to low CC high damage "supports" bot lane, and I've never felt squishier before in my time playing this game.

I honestly have multiple major problems with League right now.

#1: The abundance of parties. I understand wanting to play with friends, but am I like the only person on Earth that doesn't have a friend to play League with 24/7...? Like, I very VERY rarely see a game anymore without a party and it's just as rare to see that party actually communicating with their teammates and not just their Skype/TeamSpeak mates. The parties are also quite quite toxic, which almost feels like it's ENCOURAGED anymore. Maybe I'm just being paranoid and confirmation bias is kicking in, but I feel like Riot is trying desperately to get back their dwindling playerbase caused by radical and unnecessary changes to the game (we had just recovered from S5 and S6 swooped in) as well as overly ridiculous new champions with incomprehensible kits, double-passives, and clearly imbalanced kits that can't be fixed by numbers.

#2: No real benefit for striking out as a solo player. I feel like if Riot wants Dynamic Queue to be accepted, then there needs to be compensation for solo players. I can hear what a DQ defender might say: "But then they should make some friends in the matches they play!" Well, here's my retort: Most of us aren't really looking to use League of Legends as a friend-making service. We play League of Legends because we like the game. Making friends really shouldn't be the objective of the game, playing the game to have fun should be. I feel as a solo-queuer faced with the adversities of parties, I should be rewarded for my efforts, especially if I WIN against a party. My proposed change: Solo-queueing for more than 5 games straight (6th and so on) gain 25% bonus IP and champion XP whenever there is at least a duo-queue on the enemy team, increased to 50% on a victory. (playing in a party resets this) Leaving a game and being assessed as such revokes this bonus for 2 weeks or 25 games without a leave. (whichever comes first)

#3: A lack of feedback for reports. This one's pretty simple; there is simply too little feedback for your reports to feel like they do anything. Whenever I see someone being super toxic and I report them, I always assume they WON'T get punishment. In Dota 2, if someone you reported gets punished, regardless if yours was the deciding one or not, you get a popup that tells you that they've been punished.

I'd say its a heavy combination of everything.

-Too much CDR -Snowballing too hard, too fast. -Too much damage happening in short spans of time. Burst is one thing, but jesus. -**Unnecessary changes **(shit like Vel'Koz) -Constant shifting of objectives and their rewards -tank assassins. christ -item abusage, whether its one role to another (frost queens being abused by mids STILL) or specific champs constantly and consistently finding items to abuse (Ezreal is a prime example of this)

  • Dynamic Queue (i don't personally give a shit but this ruins games for others) -Thunderlords is still pretty prevalent and may need further adjustments -a few other masteries are generally considered useless -toxicity, always -anti-fun/frustrating champs like Zed and Fizz, problem mechanic champs like Akali, and to a lesser extent old dumpy kits like Warwick and Yorick -too many changes in a small span of time can cause a bit of unstability -trying to make every champ super unique when overlap can and will occur -Refusal to accept secondary roles or off-meta picks when it's literally just fucking normals -early game vision SUCKS. -removal of boot enchantments. -there isn't much room to make mistakes. Sometimes, one mistake is all it takes to completely fuck up your entire laning phase and even the game.

if I've missed anything feel free to add.

Serika Zero5 votes

Voted "Other". Since its impossible to chose only 1.

So in order:

  1. Riot's policy of keeping the game unbalanced on purpose This is visible when some change goes on PBE, everyone complains that its gona make the champion to broken, and it goes on live anyway because "we are riot, we know better you are just delusional". Then said hero becomes perma banned... and nerfed one day to no viability (hi morde, aatrox and company)

  2. Riot's way of making the game enjoyable for beginers (newbies). So, I had a friend last year, with which I've wanted to play some games. She quit at lv8 due to "i don't dislike the game, but the players are awful". Do note, she played like 1 pvp game and the rest bot games. And that's not a singular case. The community itself is driving new players away, and riot does nothing to help mitigate that. While in others games I play (even tho they are mmos). Newbies are welcomed by older players, they are given initiatives and help in their early days to enjoy the game. This doesn't happen here. Last hitting might be an unknown element for you, and even if you figure that out, last hitting without runes and masteries is much more difficult. And said runes cost much more than champions themselves. You get no flash for a bunch of levels as well, yay. It takes a few weeks to get IP to buy a hero you like (looks, lore, possible playstyle), only to find out you might not really like them. All these factors turn people away. But some will thrive and make their way though all of that to play the game. What type of players are they? the competitive ones

  3. Killing the competitiveness of the game and turning it casual to the point that you don't even have to spend your time to "learn how to properly play" a champion and just "pick what's OP and press random buttons ftw".

And finally 4) Many initiatives for teamplay (premades), zero initiatives for solo players why is this a problem? because lets say you want to grow a plant. You keep feeding her water. And more water and more water. But you don't give a shit about the land it grows on. Eventually the piece of land will run out of minerals and your plant withers away.

Yes, its great that LoL is a team game. And team play is important. However there's only 2+3 and 5s in the premades group that can live without solo players. The other combinations all need 1 or more solo players. So, if you don't take care of them, you are essentially cutting the branch on which you've build your tree house. Slowly and surely, its gona crack, break and ruin your house.

With the state of the game atm. It doesn't look like the new players joining will make up for those that are quitting. And that's Lol's current issue. They chosen a short term $ effective solution (play with friends boys) which is going to ruin any hopes they had for this game to be high successful for years. Well, it already had like 6 years, so my take is that they decided it was enough for the investment made, as such from now on milk it till it dies and disregard the playerbase's feelings.

Raid Boss Morde2 votes

As for your point 1, you're only half-right. If Riot listened to the community on everything on the PBE, then Viktor would be even more broken than he currently is. I remember everyone on the boards saying how terrible and trash Viktor will be (specifically Malicious Metal, he had a highly upvoted post). Turns out, Riot was correct, and Viktor was no where near terrible after his mini-rework, he's actually one of the best mid laners now.

Also, before you say "Riot changed Viktor/buffed him because of community feedback", that post that got highly upvoted was made after Viktor got buffs on the PBE. If Riot had listened to the community on that, then Viktor would be even stronger than he is now.

Supreme Senpai694 votes

I dislike how certain champions take no skill but certain champions require a lot of skill, but the payout is nearly the same. I also hate how not every champion is viable. No skill champions should be good for learning the game and for getting through bronze if you aren't good. They should be a solid and safe pick where you won't carry anyone but you also won't feed. I hate things that are point and click.

I also hate how one person doing extremely well can't really carry 4 people, but one person doing extremely poorly can lose the game for the other 4. It makes the game feel like chance; who will get the feeder? If nobody feeds then the better team wins.
